After having a bit of a nightmare when changing over the brakes on my ABS blade, finally after lots of blood sweat and tears, I now have the brakes that I have been looking for. First attempt 2 weeks ago, left me and a mate seriously doubting that I had taken the correct route with upgrading my brakes. (I'll leave the technical jargon to Craig/Shinysideup to explain in a later thread that he is compiling) I had even decided that if we could not get what I was looking for after this weekends that I was tearing out the ABS and fitting a standard blade ECU and loom to overcome the issues (no way was I missing the start of the season). Anyway the problems have now been resolved, and I have even managed a short run on the bike to confirm that Brembos on a ABS Blade do work, and by fook do they work well !! Managed a couple of pics also as always. Oh and we also managed to upgrade the forks with an Ohlins piston kit, Ohlins springs, and K-Tech flow control valves I'll wait until I get a proper run on the bike, and try a full on emergency stop, before writing up a full review on the Brembos, and the Fork internals. I may even stick up a small video if I get a chance.
I must also thank a few members on here with they're readiness to help out in whatever way they could. I have had help from members, wither it be for information regarding the bleeding of the ABS system (Slick and our very own MrB, and Arthurbikemad),or even taking the time to put up a very useful step by step guide on how to bleed the system (SwissT), and even members that actually went to they're local Honda garage to quiz the technicians at Honda (DaveV). Without all this help and a very knowledgeable friend Craig I would have been well and truly up sh*t creek. Once again it shows the true depths that folks will go to on this forum to help others.
they're might pretty mate! Ps: i got brakes today too by flogging my abs blade, lol yours was maybe the more rational way to do it, enjoy them mate
There was nothing wrong with the brakes that I had, and having ridden a non ABS blade, I can say that performance wise there is Very little difference in performance between the 2. The thing about the ABS system is that hardly anyone has ever modified the brakes with this system (even world wide), and there is almost no information worldwide on what would happen if you did so.
Glad you got them done in the end mate, it's a bummer being first to do something but someone's got to lol Job well done.
