Need to be careful posting this subversive stuff! They'll be wanting the vote next Good find ken and some good photos
Cheers Ken I really enjoyed them old photos .Question ? How come most old photos seem to be owned by The Getty corporation ?
Getty images have always been major players in the picture library business, mate. They hoover up collections and non-copyrighted stuff like James Dyson on PCP. They've even got a couple of mine. Nobody's ever used them though... A mate of mine sold a subsidiary of theirs an image he shot of the waves breaking in Torquay in the storms just before Xmas and he made about £500 during the media feeding frenzy for on the spot pictures.
Cheers guys. They're like fleas on a dog here, we get dozens of them fighting over the feeders. We started putting black Niger seeds out for them, but the damn stuff gets into the grass and spreads like wild fire so we swapped to sunflower hearts. It still grows where the little buggers drop them, but the sunflowers are a lot nicer to look at. Trying out my new cheapie 55-250 STM lens. Completely silent focussing so its great for video.
What are the odds... 10" exposure centred on Orion. 2" after I opened the shutter, shooting star... Not just at the right time but cock in the centre of the frame. It'd never happen twice...
Spent the weekend down in Dorset around the Corfe Castle area and took the camera on it's first outing. Went to Monkey World today and took the photo's below. The first one was taken as a reference so I could compare the zoomed photo to the naked eye range. Not perfect as I got it a bit off centre and not up to most of yours standards but I do like it, even quickly reduced down to 25%. Reference Zoom
