Yeah I think it's around 300ml by my last top up. but then I'm not the most accurate of measurers....
Sossige..... Are you screwing / unscrewing dip stick..?? If so could make it look like overfilled. You've got to dip without screwing in, if that makes sense...
The garage told me you have to screw it in as I specifically asked as that makes at least 10-12mm difference. I found you have to screw gently so the oil doesn't splash up all over the dipstick. And this has nothing to do with sex
Just checked the manual to be sure and you're right it says dont screw it in. Mechanics aren't as knowledgeable as they think....
Bump again, I know mine was never oil level in the end but it has made a few people realise get were getting very low! Check it people
Just read the whole thread, some lessons learned there. Glad it all went well, Atrhur is indeed a top bloke for all he did
saw this thread and was like no way sorry to hear this Martin!! then saw the date a did a sigh of relief!! What was the issue in the end couldn't read it all?
Ah I see, lucky escape then! Amazing they broke apart like that... No more clutchless down shifting for you then
I just read this entire thread and it is really good to see how many top blokes there are on here. I also own a BMW (in addition to my 08 Fireblade) and use their forum a bit and to be honest there are a lot of tossers (hence their nickname) on there. There is no way you could have gone through a 44 page thread witout some smartarse jumping in without a derogatory comment or criticism of spelling. There is however a lot of abuse about sportsbike riders in general and a rather holier than thou attitude towards other bikers. I think I'll stick on here in future!
Amazingly enough... I've never put any in mine... It hasn't used a drop in 8070miles... And the dealer does the servicing so far... H
Random place to post about oil... But I use castrol racing, did use the fully syth but have the semi in now.
