Well a horrid winter, a few health issues but the weather has changed. Bike was MOT'ed and serviced yesterday. As the weather was looking good I took the afternoon off and met up with a mate before the old Severn bridge and then went via Chepstow all the way to Talgarth. Other than fog in areas it was a fun yet cold run with about 130 miles done. Only downer to th say was a stunning road to Talgarth that they have now lowered to 50mph from national. I've never heard or seen any accidents myself and used the road many times over the years. A bloody shame Bring on the summer !!!
I can't wait to get out for a decent run. After today's short run I was freezing, but it was worth it.
Glad the MOT went well and also that you obviously had a good ride. Hope your health keeps good now, you deserve a break.
I have to say being able to see (now I know that was a big issue) is great, and for some reason my hips have not been playing up. But I have been trying to get more active, cut down the cigarettes and drinking over the past few months. So must have helped.
had my first trip out yesterday since november 2012!! due to various circumstances i hadn,t rode it for 16 months. felt damn good yesterday though. hope you had a great trip.
Excellent news mate. Can't complain at that after 130 miles on a first run. Even without an op I'd still be stiff after those miles.
So pleased for u mate, we all take our sight for granted, and its not until you are faced with the prospect of losing it, you realise how precious it is. And to rocket dont know your circumstances, but good to hear you are back on the road too
Matt is that the road that runs from the Abergaveny to Brecon A road and goes past a little café on the left heading to Talgarth? Real shame if it is - lets hope they don't start a campaign of lowering speed limits on other popular bike friendly roads. Good to hear you are back on the bike mate. I'm still aching after a run out on Sunday to Crossgates the home port of el-nicko - didn't spot that helmet of his though. Cheers - Steve
thats the one. lovely long straights, twistys, was a very fun road until the limit came down. the cafe ont he left does a lovey brekky and stopped there a few times on the bike and in the kit car just looked its the A479, and bare in mind the little side roads off are national and single lanes it's madness
I live in Bristol and getting my blade tomorrow. unfortunately Im busy this weekend ( bad timing) but keep me in mind for the future. Im prone to a jaunt into Wales.
Glad you're sorted, Matt. I look forward to joining the throng of first-runners once spring finally arrives in Teesside. Normally sometime in June.
