Took my bike out for the first time on Sunday, it was a beautiful sunny day i looked down at the clock and could hardly read it due to what appeared to be a greasy brown smear and a run of fluid, much wetting of fingers and rubbing failed to move it, on closer inspection it appears to be on the inside of the glass. Having taken it to the dealers to look at they have taken photos and contacted Honda, Honda have responded that they have never seen anything like it before and would like me to monitor it for a couple of months to see if it disappears, if it hasn't gone by then they will replace the glass. SERIOUSLY Am I wrong in wanting it replaced immediately, it's nothing I've done ! the bike has never been out in the rain, the clock is cleaned with a dry cloth, I have absolutely no idea what it is or how it got there, surely Honda should replace it straight away (still have over a year left on warranty) what would you do ?
There are reasons people pay a premium for brand new vehicles and one of them is for the warranty. With that in mind and the fact that it cannot be classed as wear and tear, I'd demand it is done immediately
Insist on it being replaced its surely a safety issue if you can't read the clocks.......u might go too fast Honda dealers IME will try that one, had a clutch side oil leak nowt much but it was under warranty, got the see if it gets worse answer. By the time I could be arsed to take it back warranty was over. So did it myself, mind you if technician had that attitude I'm glad I did it myself. Seriously wouldn't stand for it, don't take no for and answer.
What bike, year ? I have replaced one Blade 2012 speedo cover due to condensation under warranty, no quibble. The monitoring thing is rubbish there's no mechanism for it, a claim is submitted it either gets approved or rejected. Parts supplied or not. I would demand a fix and suggest the dealer hasn't claimed at all.
Can you post up a picture ? PM me your reg I'll get the vin and might be able to check the claim on the system
No your not being unreasonable however, In my experience of Honda dealers they have put you off to give them time to come up with a reason to blame you for the problem? Just you wait and see I have no faith in Honda dealers but I do need their stamp in my service book
For what it's worth I had my 2012 speedo outer cover replaced under warranty for the exact same reason. I took the pictures myself and sent them to my local dealer who had the claim authorised, although first they had a go at cleaning it but to no avail. BS that Honda have 'never seen this problem before'! Sam
I had this but on my old gsxr , it was no where near warranty but the dealer did it as part of its service and told me when i picked her up , im not impressed to hear all the bad dealer feedback . wheres that zx10 ad ................................
