I have a couple of questions that I could do with some help on.

Noticed today that I'm losing 7 miles per hour at the ton Sat nav 93 bike ton!
    80 sat nav bike 85 / 86

Can I ask as anyone fitted a Speedo Healer?
Where did you buy it and do you have a link as the only one I've seen is in Greece?
    Are they easy to fit?
    What is involved in fitting?
    & finally

How accurate is the bike once the Speedo Healer is fitted?

Any help will be much appreciated!

    Cheers Ray

Jap speedos always over read despite the technology used in modern bikes, electronics and sensors as opposed to cables and gear drives for old bike speedos, they still can't or won't make a speedo that's correct for some reason.
I got a speedo healer V3 for my 05 blade when I changed the gearing and once set up it should read just about correct to you sat nav. (plus/minus 1mph or so). I've now got it on my 09 blade and same results.
Get em from here Speedo Healer V4 and more info from here HealTech Electronics Ltd. - Makers of the SpeedoHealer, GIpro, X-TRE, FI Tuner Pro, Brake Light Pro, MM5, OBD Tool

My speedo used to have a similar speed offset to yours and cured it by fitting a 55 profile tyre, might or might not work for you but did for me

All great info Guy's many thanks for the feedback.
My XT1200Z was shocking but with the Blade I really do need to know what speed I'm actually doing for obvious reasons.

Greg I was looking at HealTech sight through eBay and fired them off a question but noticed the kit was in Australia. I'll have a look at the other site and Bikers Discount too Lam'y cheers.

Technically that could work but there's two problems; 1; It won't be as accurate as a speedo healer, 2; A 190/55 tyre costs what? £ 160-£180, a speedo healer is less than £100.

Healtech were good for info, they sent me a wiring diagram to put my SH v3 onto my 09 blade. The V3 was a current model when I bought it for my 05 bike. There wasn't a plug in wiring harness for the v3 for the 09 bike & Bikers Discount could only sell me a v4 which I didn't really want to do. I did get the v3 from Bikers Discount originally though.

Stock speedos over-read deliberately so you don't try and sue the manufacturer when you get done speeding :) (ie, the speedo will never say you're going slower than you actually are)
The reason a different profile tyre can affect the speedo reading is because it changes the gearing. You can get the same effect by changing sprockets.

I've tested with gps and yes it does work

speedo reads 40mph real speed on gps 39mph
Speedo reads 70mph real speed on gps 68mph

Same sort of accuracy you'll get with a healer and was changing tyres anyway, so £100 saved in my opinion

So your Speedo is bang on at 40 but under reads by 8mph at 70?

Whooo ek looks like I've opened a right can of worms here :D

Great to see that its not just my bike that mis reads. I know my last bike was even worse than the Blade. Still planning on giving the Healer a go and if it don't do it for me there's always Fleebay LOL

    I'll keep you posted!

Can you program it to read 5mph when doing a true 100mph?

Might be useful to the BIG mileage riders who want to keep the miles down.

(SAT NAV for true speeds) ;)

In 2000 I fitted a Blackbox to my SP1 as I'd changed the front sprocket, that used 8 microswitches to get the speedo spot on.
If you're not changing the gearing once you know how far out the speedo is why do you need to adjust it. Just rejoice in the fact that when you've done a 100 miles your odometer will say you've only done 93! All helps when you come to sell.
