Since introducing myself the other week and getting myself a RR7, I’ve been thinking about what I should do (if anything) with it when I get it (next week). Unusually there’s not much I feel the need to do, if fact I’m having trouble thinking of anything I want to do! This is one bike I have no urge to fit a different can on, I like the double barrel shotgun look as it is and every after market can I’ve seen fitted looks crap, especially those that protrude beyond the rear light which just don’t look right at all. So what are the most common (useful, not mickey mouse cosmetic) mods I should be thinking of?
Its understandable you not feeling the need to buy anything for it because its a bloody fantastic anyway.
Crash Bungs def' just not decided which ones yet, the Gilles ones look the dog's. Quick shifter is on my list of juicy bits to consider, you got one?
Nice....... just like mine!!! I would heartily suggest the Gilles Gearshaft Support... honestly makes a massive difference to the positiveness (if thats a word!) of the gear change! I fitted an Akropovic slip-on exhaust and I think it looks mint... but each to their own. I would also recommend fitting braided brake lines... its a 7 year old bike after all, and those original hoses aint going to be great after all those years... made a nice difference on my bike. Also paddock stand bobbins... the swingarm has the holes pre-drilled already, and it means you wont scratch that swingarm when using a paddock stand.
Mike I agree with all the above suggestions but if you don't do any mods, its a fantastic looking bike. Enjoy it !
Bobbins and rad grill on order, maybe fit braided lines, done it before on two bikes never felt much difference to be honest, not saying they don't improve things, but thought the benefits are overrated, they didn't 'transform' anything. Shift support? never heard of that, just checked it out and sounds like I might get one. Got a picture of the one on yours Gappy?
To be honest, that will all depend on how knackered the current hoses are (and what quality they were to begin with). But regardless of that, if you pick a good colour they can look pretty damn sweet! The shift support bolts around the gear shift shaft to hold it... stops it flexing when your kicking the gear lever with your size 10s! Once fitted, its largely hidden behind the shift rod, you can barely see it. It's not an aesthetic mod, merely a functional one... I found it made a big difference, and found that it eliminated me accidentally finding neutral, or getting "false neutrals". Obviously if that's not a problem you ever have, then you have no need for one.
get ride of the pinkers at the front and get some nice flush ones ( are they allowed for MOT?? ) crash pads, paddockstand bobbins, shift holder, quickshifter, braided lines, different rearsets, nice brembo or other aftermarket master cylinder, GB engine covers, carbon frame covers, crabon swingarm covers....... Should I go on?? plenty of nice things to put on it
Yeah, looks like it could make a difference. I'm assuming she just bolts on like in the pics right? http://www.oppracing.com/images/uploaded/pr3428_1.jpg
Sorry Skippy mate flush flashers are filed under 'tacky shite' no offence Besides I like the four wheeled f****rs to see when I'm indicating, half of 'em have trouble seing full sized ones never mind half invisible ones. What you doing in Belgium anyway, had a couple of weekends there on my old ZX9 last year, Gent then Antwerp, enjoyed it, I was doing beer research, it's a lifelong project of mine.
Yep... just slide the shift rod off the end of the shaft, slide on the support (and bolt it up) then put the shift rod back on the shaft... very simple, and like I say, I really noticed the difference.
I just fitted a Gilles Shift support tonight! 5 min job, Gilles really do make quality stuff. My 2 cents on what to fit to your bike - personally I couldn't do without a GIPRO gear indicator GIpro Digital Gear Indicators for Honda Motorcycles | Motorbikes
So after market cans all look crap, braided lines are overrated and flush indicators are tacky shite ? all of course your opinion and of course your entitled to that. Sounds like you don't really need much in the way of advice, you seem to know it all already.....just my opinion though
being held at gunpoint by my other half as soon as she drops it I'm out of here faster than marc Marquez Got a business in Leuven, but will be selling up in 2016 to move back home
