Finally decided to listen to those voices in my head (and on this forum) and get me one of them quickshifters. Also decided to make the trip out to Arthurs to get his experienced hands to fit it. Very glad I did as a surprising amount of kit has to be removed and disconnected, and quite a bit of potential for me to seriously screw something up in my rush to feed the kids, the cats, or anything else that needs feeding at a very inconvenient moment. Anyway, Arthur lived up to his reputation, incredibly knowledgeable and importantly for me treated my bike the way I would, and the way you really hope every garage would but most often don't. Very happy with the QS. They've been talked about so much before I won't go on..... But to someone like me who has never experienced one before.....well, I had a fun ride home let's say that! Cheers
All this talk about injectors being put on wrong, or the wrong ones being removed and the amount of kit that needs removing makes me a little nervous about fitting it myself and Arthur lives at the other end of the country........ Glad to hear your enjoying it 1000rr, fantastic bit of kit.....
Was great to meet you mate, and my thanks to you for trusting me with your bike, I'm glad you like the HM. Was my pleasure to help after all you seemed to do most of the work sorry I did not make more tea...Ha Ha, your bike is super nice and very clean! Any questions just give me a shout any time And thanks again
luckily you don't need to remove any injectors Have you ever changed or checked your airfilter?? is so it's about 4 screws more work than that pretty easy too be honest, but if your not a hands on type of guy than yes I do agree it looks and sounds terrifying to start on. I'm sure if you need help that there would be someone up your way who's mechanically savy to give you a have, just start a topic. and Arthur wouldn't mind sending a QS your way I reckon
Thanks Skippy, i fitted one to my R1 which is more or less the same thing except the ecu is i a different place and there aren't anywhere near as many wires or connectors, maybe im over thinking it... Ive already got Arthur's details and will be ordering a QS from him either today or tomorrow and he sent me his number just incase i have issues...
I'm off to Arthur's today to get my QS fitted today I'm only getting one fitted because of this forum never thought of having before but so many people on hear rave about them I just had to try one Just hope they are as good as everybody says
Looking forward to seeing you again Clarkey, that blade will have a whole new grin factor after today! Tea, biscuits and Quickshifters is the order of the day
HI Matt, strange question but would you mind if I popped round and watched you fir your QS. I'd love to get one but may opt to drive to Arthur's to have the Pro fit it. I understand if its a non starter, some folk don't like an audience. Just let me know what you think, Cheers Ray
Ray your more than welcome mate, the more the merrier in fact anyone who is remotely more mechanically minded than me would help immensely... I shall give you a shout when it arrives and arrange a suitable date to fit if thats good with you??
We'll quick shifter fitted and yes it was a great ride home took to changing gear without clutch Like a duck to water Thanks Arthur
Good stuff clarkey! Arthur, it won't be long and you'll literally be able to do these with your eyes shut.
