    Hi all

Has anyone done a how to type thread on fitting a HM quickshifter?

I'll be fitting mine over the next week or so, and know that I'll get it done, but it's a lot easier if someone else has already done it, and documented it.

take off seat, tank cover, tank (black and brown leccy), breather and fuel line 4 alen screws
Fuel lines are fiddly with green placcy locking tabs, push lower tab in then slide up and it should release, to re attach take green lock off put inside hose end then push onto connector till a loud positive click.
Remove airbox top, screws round edge,
4 coloured leccy connectors on top
disconnect fuel line between upper and lower injector rail.
Romove velocity stacks 6 screws then remove air box tray (two rubber breather hoses on underside) black leccy connector on back blue back right.
Remove rubber skirt then you can get to the coil plugs to attatch harness plugs 2&3 easy 1 and 4 are really hard to reach but poss with patience front of top of cam cover.
Plug that harness to quick shifter unit route down right of underseat, earth to battery neg wire to strain guage behind frame.
Take off shifter arm and assemble strain guage and screw in arms (same length as original) to rose connectors make sure in 1st and then make sure all gears can be reached without fouling.
The rest is set up which is explained in quickshifter manual
Artherbikemad is the man to pm he's top bloke and knows his stuff.

There is very little room for fat hands, long nose pliers of medical forceps can help. The rubber breather hoses on the underside of airbox housing go back on much easier with a bit of lube. as do the large oval air intake ducks on the base of the same.
Dont do what I did and remove the lower injector rail:rolleyes:

How have you got on with your leaking injector "O" rings? Sorted?

Parts arrive tommorow, but after talking to arthur I think it will be easy, they just need a smear of oil and should pop together ok........
Knowing my fat hands though I will fire the slippy o ring across the workshop (bar of soap like) I'll dive to save it from gritty armageddon and twat me sweed on the handle bars
Have a tourettes attack and kick a rock and hurt me foot:p
I prefer stonemasonry (my profession) if it annoys you ya just twat it with a bigger hammer....jobs a good un .....if only:rolleyes:

Just a thought Matt.. Remember you were saying the repsols going into Rochdale Honda Wednesday to have the gear box looked at. I'd strongly advise on waiting to get it back before you fit the shifter ..no doubt they will take note there's one fitted and it could effect any possible gearbox warranty claim if ones needed in the future.. Just a thought mate

Its ok Daz, it was due in tomorrow but that has been cancelled. I adjusted the gear peg to its highest position that still feels comfortable for me to change up and down the gears, did this last week and since have had no issues, (touch wood).. Also noticed on the yank forum that quite a few had had the same problems, all on new bikes and within the first 1500 miles and once they made the adjustments all was good so im hoping its fixed.

If i was to have problems again i would remove the QS before taking it in...

    Cheers mate...
