Good Luck with your first race of the season Wedgie! At least you know what to expect but I'm not sure that'll help keep you calm when you're lining up on the grid!
Well that's the first day done ! Happish Qualy 14th overall 4th in class . First race pissed down so the wets went on eek I felt ok bit confidence still building after crashes and only second time on bike , Got a decent start and only thing on mind was finishing not as I do try to hard and it worked . 3rd in class do well happy and the good thing is I know I'm only on 60% at the minute . I'm a bit pissed off I know I could of been quicker and should of pushed more but took just finish in the horrible conditions . 2nd race cancelled as low light so 3 races tommrrow bring it on out for qualy and couldn't
expect detailed report and pics up this week... well done on 4th in the rain mate, you'll get it all together soon and be 100% full confidence!
Well day 2 racing at brands it rained it went sunny rained hailed then went sunny again and probably rained again . Had 3 races today a 9 lap and 2x 18 laps . Went out for race 1 and felt ok gotta be quicker off line and get up to speed quicker . But I started to pick up the pace and was overtaking and really enjoying it the zx6r is so different to the blade race 1 completed overall 11th 4th in class . Dry race . Race 2 pulled onto grid and set off for warm up lap bang rider behind me clipped my leg thought nothing of it and set off for warm up lap . On grid and lights go out bang again same rider hits my leg and clip on making bike go left ? Thought what the fooks he doing so set off down straight went for brakes no lever my master cylinder had been turned upright so back brake and just getting fingers onto lever to slow down tried to bang it down but couldn't do it b****rd had to pull off . Wets but drying line . Race 3 thought I'm going to get better off the line and I did my best start round paddock into Druids no brakes lever back to bar run wide but pump them and they come back this kept on all race I lasted around 10 laps I wanted to just finish but was getting dangerous as hoping I had pressure in lever and was snatching brakes when they were there gutted as nice dry race . Must of damaged my master cylinder when whacked I think I'll have a look tommrrow . Dry race . And he has scratched all my freshly painted fairings grrrrr lol . Bit gutted but wasn't my fault
Must be hard enough racing when everything's working properly let alone when some git tries to take you out twice and leaves you at a disadvantage! Bet you'll be sha**ed tomorrow!
The guy obviously didn't take too kindly to the shiny new orange scheme n took offence with it an thought "al show this twat n his tango bike who's da man!" Least u stayed up rite albeit with some under wear with a slightly more brown shade! Wedge, learn from it and in future races stay the hell away from the clown that used u as his brake and turning device! Best way to achieve this is kick his a55 and place higher up the grid next time out!
pity mate, but like everyone has said, at least you didn't fall and have gained some needed race experience. Bet you had a blast all weekend though and learnt a lot? Make sure you alwawys have a reserve master cylinder with you I just take the original with me. Get it sorted and do a few test laps before you start hammering in laptimes with the M/C....... How many signatures do you need to lose the bib? 10 or is it the whole season with the bib?
That's it mate in 1 piece ready for cadders looking at times me and tyke gotta be around 1:40s tykes is a well quicker class though
Yeah defo getting used to my launch now just to keep out the way of the demolition derby riders ha ha cheers
