It worked for two years without any issues, no overheating in the slightest. I checked the cables a few times after long runs just to make sure and they were cold.
Dual headlight module Just ordered from Jens, replied to email very quickly. Cost shipped to Uk is 56 euro. Will post pics on install when it arrives if any one is interested.
Here you go guys, 5 minutes of trimming with some snips and a dremel and the bulbs fits straight in to the housing. One wire from the positive on the other bulb to the top (empty) terminal and both headlights work on dip. Another alternative is to fit 2 x H4 bulbs and run one wire from the low beam to the spare terminal on the high beam light. You then run another wire from the high beam terminal over to the low beam bulb so you have both headlights working on dip and main beam. I think you have to swap over the terminals on the low beam bulb though as the dip may use the top terminal, cannot remember offhand. Will have a test when I do my current bike.
Is this the unit that gives 40% power to the high beam light? Whatever, give us some pics afterwards mate.
Hi really interested in doing this, have you had any issues getting the bike through its mot & being completely rubbish at electrics could you post a simple diagram/photo for idiots like me to under stand so I can attempt to do this myself Thanks
I tried this yesterday but the light wasn't as good as my CBR600 was. Once the bulb was cut ( And the two opposite male spades trimmed smaller ) the new bulb fitted into the holder no problem, just had to bend the clip to hold it in place. The original power supply plug needed the cables removing as the plug is narrower than the two terminals on the bulb, the plastic surround was a pig to get off the wires. Ran a cable from the positive terminal on the right side bulb to the TOP terminal on the new bulb, turned the ignition on and it worked fine. The only thing was that the left bulb looked yellow compared to the right bulb. Maybe it needs a different bulb, not sure. It didn't look like that when I did it to the CBR600. The job is easy enough, its just the duller looking bulb that needs addressing ??
This seems a lot of hassle to get a 'dip' from the high beam side. Looks like the plug-in unit is the easiest option to get two lights.

Funny you mention nose cones, since getting my rr7 two weeks ago I've not ridden it as I've been making little mods to it which including removing all fairings. Putting it back together literally two hours ago I cracked the extreme left hand corner of the nose cone where it joins up with the left hand panel . I could have kicked myself, what a bummer It's a crack about 30mm long, I know from experience that fairing plastic is a t*** to glue back together. How are you fixing yours? Anyone know of an effective fairing glue?
Mine has a hole near the light so will be fibre glassed and the red section re-painted, given it to a body shop/sprayer that I know.
