Have put a set of Pirelli Rosso Corsa's on my 07 blade as it had conti roads on it when I bought it a few months ago and have just done my first track day with it and I would say they've got to be one of the best road/track tyre out there. Used to run them on my 675 Daytona before and they have always been excellent, have to see what kind of milage I get with them on the blade.

[IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG] Just had these fitted to loose wheels today Michelin Pilot Road 4s .These perhaps would be my last choice in the past but having seen Andy creaming himself over his PR3s and having spoken to him last night I have decided to have a punt .I know Both Barney and Marion also like the 3s so lets see how we go on tomorrow ''Good chance of getting home in the snow '' with these suckers.

Dunno if anyone's posted this already but I'd suggest that if Colin Edwards can lap Sepang on supposed "old tech" Pilot Power 2CTs on a Yamaha M1 MotoGP bike then they'll do for me :D

8 seconds a lap slower than comp tyres though ;)

25 lap race would have you lapped twice ;)

What tyres do the senior TT riders use?

You know!!

On what is effectively an 8 year old tyre... Awesome.

Things have moved on so much since then too - really does show what great tyres are out on the market now days. But still think the 2ct is a great tyre.

And I don't think 8 secs is huge considering the level of rider and the power it's trying to contain on a gp bike. And how good a set of slicks are that are meant to last 20 odd laps compared to a street tyre that meant to last 1000's of miles, perform in all conditions - 100's of heat cycles etc etc.

All for a few hundred quid.

For a better comparison - look at the wsb boys times when they test road tyres - usually a lot closer to their race lap times ;)

Ride like the tt boys?
A mate Pete went to the tt last year and he is pretty quick.Low 48s at Brands.
His words were" you know when the fast boys are coming cos they don't let off the throttle at all and you could hear em coming"
Complete Nutters!!

If your asking about tt they all use Dunlop I think? But sure someone will confirm....

Not sure what relevance that has though?

ok thanks, what tyre are you using for your racing/track days?

I was thinking of trying Pirelli slicks for my track days but then some Dunlop D212GP pro (soft F/ medium R) came up at less price, was thinking of those instead?

wondered if anyone on thread if anyone had used the D212?

Excellent tyre 212 take a bit longer to get up to optimal temp compared to Pirelli which are straight on it out of the warmers, every one to there own choice what suits them, over the short circuit but when you doin 225 miles at tt does not matter
