Right guys I'm constantly reading how the K5/6 Gixer a thou was the perfect sportsbike! And how amazing it still is with it's pre euro restrictions, how light and powerful it is! Now I've never ridden one but I'm itching to know how it compares to our 08+ Blade! Has anyone owned one of these beasts and is it good as they say it is? Cheers Trev
Hi I had one a K5 model no doubt the best one they have done. Great balance and fantastic engine and shape still looks quite modern now, Can't compare against a 08 as I own a the latest one but I wish I had kept end it.
i had a gsxr1000k6 the cbr1000rr9 is a better bike power is a bit better not much though i feel the cbr is better then again mines is 3 years newer than the old bike i had
Had a k5 and what a bike it was awsome, trade it for a k9 I must have been on glue at time as the k5 is the best bike I have ever had and I have had a hell of a lot of bikes in 20 years, not saying the blade is no good but can't compare to that bike.mid range torque was unbelievable,I put it on the dyno back in 2005 and it was pushing out 189 with a k and n and a yoshi back end results to prove still in my hand.i know bikes are putting out 195 stock the zx10 for instance but 9 years back was pretty good.i would honestly swap my new sp if someone had a brand new one tucked away and that's no s--t.
I owned a K6 1000 on an 07 plate, which I had for 5 years, as apposed to the 5 bikes I have had since I sold it in 2012!!!! It was an outstanding bike. Quick (but aren't they all) finish was superb, contrary to the usual ill informed comments and 100% reliable. The Ring, several two Up European trips with my wife, the last one was to the Pyrenees (2500 miles) no problems, but I appreciate not everyone's primary objective. The 08-11 Blade, I don't see why not as good if not better ( similar comments were made by MTC Suspension) my time riding my 11 will let me make an informative decision. And looking forward to lots of miles on it.
Ive had K1, K3 and K7 After changing the exhausts, removing the cat, setting up the suspension the K7 was as good if not better than the K5/K6. however the build quality left a lot to be desired and as a road bike the latest 2012 onward 'blades are far far superior and much quicker over the mountain at the TT
I've had both, the gsxr had more power, more torque and was a faster bike, halso had 7bhp more than my 2013 blade does, but I think the blade handles better and is a better all round bike, where as the gsxr is the perfect trackbike imo... what ever you buy you'll be riding with a big grin
K3 1000 Suzuki GSX1000 (2004) Motorbike For Sale | 3122778 | MCN I know they have a K5 750 unused!! SUZUKI GSXR 750 cc 20TH ANNIVERSARY 12k yikes!
Not in 2005 they weren't fact.look in your history books I have been to the tt for 20 years and in 2004/5 Suzuki dominated
Brand New!!! Blue 2004 Suzuki GSXR 1000 K3 / K4 0 Miles! Pre Reg 04 Plate | eBay I know it's no K5/6 but?
The K7 wasnt out then dude! I am speaking from my experience on my road bikes not the modified racers..
If it was a thou I would not a 750 but no other bikes at time ever come close,I know backers says honda at tt yes I agree they have dominated tt for a fair few years now but not back then in 05
Gave my mate a shot of my 2011 Blade, he loved it. He used to have an urban tiger before he got his k6. Here's him at the tt on his k6. andy burt tt 2012 - YouTube
I know but honda could not touch the suzukis at the time,I came back to honda because I think Suzuki had not moved with the times where as honda have but Suzuki will see there day again, never had a rr7 honda but by all reviews were not the best
Im not saying Honda at the TT, Im saying from my own experience riding both bikes over the mountain.......................
Cheers guys I've never read it being compared to newer Blades!..... hence the post Just wondered how it faired Thanks again
