Thanks boys.... 14th on grid but got a decent start and actually made some places first lap... Picked off few more and battled hard for the last three places. Was goosed but put my Pb in on lap ten keeping a dude at bay.... Loving it!!
Nice one Jimbo, great write up there. It sounds as though you got into the swing of it all nicely and did the right thing in using your head. Realising when you are past your best is a huge help and it gives you something to work on. I have realised that my fitness could be better, so am going to start working on this over the year. Keep your chin up, look forward to the next round, keep learning and all will be well. Good on ya!!!
thanks mate - it's costly enough not to use your head. i'll have a go on anyone if i know it's on, but i was physically wrecked by race 4 and would be even worse ruining someone elses bike / weekend.... like you thats something i have to work on... well start working on! ha just need to sort out a pcv to have it mapped and smoothed out a little and also my suspension, as although against good advice form you and others, didnt fit the new rear shock as hadnt had time to test it / set up.... so was on totally stock suspension... testiment to the blade, it took everything i could throw at it lol but was working hard.... be interesting to see how it helps the bike and me along!
That was a good read mate. Cant wait to get down to get down to watch a bit of Jimbo racing Oh and this needs to be on your leathers
Thanks mate! must say, the accossato master cyclinder performed awesome all weekend! got me out of trouble a few times and was really gaining on some in the braking in the fast corners. Well pleased with it! cheers. what are the QAT's like!?
Typical Italian engineering, V lovely. We supply Quattro Kawasaki & Buildbase BMW with them amongst others. Give me a call if you want one, we'll do you a special deal
Top man! i'll be in contact..... if the MC is anything to go by i'd be well happy, couldnt believe the difference from stock... certainly had more power than i dared putting though it
Have you had your front suspension sorted out? It's the best way to get the most out of the brakes you have.
Not yet tbh - its on set up stock but looking to get either piston kit or cartridge's done. bought a WP shock, but thinking of biting the bullet and getting K-tech shock and front end sorted. but as always, got to budget it around the real world.
Yep, I'm afraid once you go racing it's a never ending process of removing money in large doses from your wallet! Have a word with Steve Jordan for your suspenders, he's a top bloke.
Good account of your first weekend Jimbo, great that it all went to plan. Look forward to the next instalment
