Met with one of my commuter chums the other day at a red light. Sitting there with a pucker Tricolour (HRC) CB100R, we had one of our short chats. Over the loud grumble of his Akro he mentioned he was getting rid of it, -for an SV. A strange move from a flash CB, but politely said ‘that’s nice’, kinda the same way you congratulate a new parent of a baby that is frankly hideous.

Today whilst filtering saw a familiar face of a Blade which pulled up next to me, then noticed the Brembos and Ohlins – my first on the move SP! On acknowledging the rider on having a gorgeous machine quickly realised it was him! Funny how one misheard letter makes a huge difference!

There in lies the problem - I do! Only just stopped wearing my full face balaclava.

Might change my Arai for one of them Schubert jobbies so I can get rid of dem plugs and be more sociable

Yeah plugs do make conversations difficult. I came upon a truck pulling a trailer with a flat tyre once, smoke and bits of rubber spewing all over the road as it went. I pulled up alongside him at the next set of lights and tried to convey (using hand signals) the problem, whilst looking up at him from the bike. Needless to say with my full face lid, he couldn't hear what I was saying, and with my plugs I couldn't hear him either. It was like a 30 second round of charades. I got to 2nd word, 3rd syllable and the lights changed...
