Hi Blackness, PeteH was right it is an Arata exhaust (full system in titanium), very light with good power gains. They used to be called Stryker I think.

Not much in the way of power mods, pair valve, airbox, PC 5 and two custom maps (one with baffle in and one without). With the airflow changes and the full system the bike gained about 12 bhp and a few pound of torque. Although the wheels are not the lightest, I wanted them to last without any risk of failure, they make a difference and I like the look of them. Rearsets are Rizoma with race pegs, I really wanted Promachs but they don't make them for the RR6/7 anymore.

Thanks Blackness, I have spent all my biking years changing bikes for the next ' must have'. I decided just over two years ago I would buy a bike I like, mod it to how I wanted it and keep it. Had to compromise on a few things but it is getting there. I really wanted Ohlins forks but could not justify the cost, so had them totally rebuilt instead and tbh, I expect I would not notice the difference in the real world.

Thats pretty much the same as me exfire ! I love the look of our year blades and do think they are the sexiest they did, so i too am gonna stick with it and unleash all the goodness on it as and when i get the money !

Id be surprised if a 13 or 14 would stay with yours or perform nearly as well !

Yes Blackness the bike handles great now, it was pretty good as stock but the suspension, wheels and brakes have made a big difference.I wanted power but I wanted to be able to use it it safely and I can now. If I make a mistake the bike is very forgiving and the brakes have saved me a couple of times already.

I would like a bit more power but having spoken to the guy who does my bike, Mark Brewin at BSD, he advised me very strongly not to waste my money.

Hi KevB, well as you know dyno readings don't mean too much. On the same dyno with the same technician ,but on different days the bike made 156 bhp stock, can't remember the torque . With the PC, air mods, full exhaust system and mapping it made 168 bhp and just under 83 lb torque.

It was mapped to give best midrange, I have dropped the front sprocket to -1 and am considering increasing the rear by +2.

I have managed to save some weight with the wheels and exhaust but I think the discs are heavier than stock.

Blackness, the mirrors are Rizoma, I quite like their stuff, more bling than practical though.

Looking fantastic KevB you must be well pleased. Love the exhaust, looks really nice, bet it sounds good too.

I took ages to decide on my wheels, I wanted some that would be lighter than stock but would stand up well to really bumpy roads (and i mean Really bumpy) and also look good. If I was making the decision today, I probably would have gone for magnesium rather than the forged aluminium to save a little more weight but tbh I doubt if I would have noticed the difference and the £600 extra seemed a bit extreme (especially with what else I had paid out for ). I don't like to compromise but it seemed slightly more sensible.

What wheels are you thinking of ?

Next up on mine, but not sure which order, is Brembo Clutch M/C, billet rear brake reservoir and perhaps a quickshifter. Lastly, I think I will get Bitubo fork cartridges but I want to get some use out of my revamped forks first as they are working great.

Galespeed wheels next, Fork cartridges, an a moto GP type rear brake caliper and mounting bracket .
My forks are standard but have been setup . If you ever wanted to change your wheels to magnesium I will buy your forged aluminium wheels Exfire.
Dont want the latest bike I just like to fit quality upgrades like you have on your blade Exfire .

Galespeeds, good choice, can't afford the magnesium wheels unfortunately. Like you, I enjoy getting a bike and making it your own.

We all have different riding styles and I think it is important to get the bike right for the rider. It's funny that people seem to understand it is important for racers to get their bikes set up for how they want them but often do not think it is something that a road rider may want/need to do.

Good luck with the mods and please keep the pics and updates coming. May even fit my red and black fairings next year.

Couple of laps at Snett on my new (to me) Blade

Just bought 05 Blade race/trackbike and vid of a couple of laps at Snett. First time on a sportsbike. Very different to my normal ride which is a KTM SDR but started to get the hang of it towards the end of the day.

Thanks dude :) Have to say it's a very different beast to the KTM lol. I caught myself out at the end of Bentley straight when I used the same braking marker  Thank fook you can go straight on there or it could have become a dirt bike ;) It was still in standard shift that day and I always use race. Fixed that now but needs a QS and a new slipper after it failed at the end of the day :( Cracking bike though. Handles like a dream although feels a lot heavier than the KTM and goes like fooking stink :D
