Blimey...the southern counties get a bit of smog and it's the end of the world !!! All over the news going about how "Londoners" are suffering and the surrounding counties are health hazards..... Sorry...no sympathy...try living in this part of the world where air pollution is part of the everyday skyline...week in, week out.. Fancy a trip to the the beach....yes why not bit of fresh sea air... Not called "Smoggies" up here for nothing you know Bororich...I'm sure you'll agree..
Got to say that pic does make a trip to the beach seem inviting I guess that may not be a Blue Flag beach then ? Yeah we are lucky down here, don't think my asthma could stand the smog on a permanent basis. The last few days have made it much harder for me to breathe when I do anything remotely energetic. That is why I am going to take the old girl out for a ride in the smog this afternoon instead of working.
It's one of the better beaches in the area..with a commanding view of the steel works and the nuclear power station.. And now the offshore wind farm.... Another sunny morning over the town My house is actually on the extreme right of this photo about a quarter of the way up.. Genuine high quality real estate
In fact, joking aside. I always can't believe the pollution in London whenever I visit. I notice that the air's much cleaner at home.
Funnily enough when it was red hot last year my and our lass went down to Seaton for a paddle to cool off and the water was lovely and clean. It was quite amusing though. She's from Durham and when we were walking down to the beach she was a bit gobsmacked by the surrounding industry and asked, "What's that hum??" "The power station over there" "That's a power station??" "Yeah.....a nuclear one" "WHAT!!!!!!" She looked concerned
Hartlepool Power Station...Where would the 2 headed Cod be without it As for Norton..I heard that even the pollution has to get a pass to get over the border to go there... The river is a lot cleaner now though, there are seals up as far as the barrier these days, there was two resident in Middlesbrough dock for most of last year. Still wouldn't go swimming in the sea though...not with all those lovely short sewer outfalls down there..
House prices have rose to record levels in Cheshire as cockneys clammer to board trains and buses to enter the promise land.
Yeah I was having a walk by the barrage last summer too and we spotted 3 seals. One was right up close to the Stockton side of the barrier and was just looking up at us for a minute or so. Nice to see them.

Because i live in the rather posh Riding of East Yorkshire... We don't have that Smog stuff.. We have sea Fret.. and its been lurking all week... I havent seen the blue sky for days..
We have had that here too all week....with a nice dark grey tinge to it just to add a bit of colour to our daily lives I'll be down your way next weekend for the racing...watching not doing obviously lol The first time in three years my time off work has fallen just right
Well I haven't noticed any difference at all and my hooter is hugely sensitive to this kind of thing. Spent a few hours in that London last week and it felt like breathing in a coal mine. It has been pissing down here most of the week though. However, my beautiful car looks like I've been rallying in a sand pit. Plus, the rail link to Cornwall opens again today so the steam trains will be adding to it all from now on!
I had to shut my vents on my lid when riding into London this morning. Never had to do that before..... I am quite sensitive to dust etc so really felt the smog last few days personally
Tom......"I'll be down your way next weekend for the racing...watching not doing obviously lol" If the weather has sorted it self out by then.. i will be most definitely going.. Mr Farquhar is makeing his return..
Taz been business as usual in 'Leafy Cheshire'! No smog, little rain, plenty of sun and dry roads! Nice little 'Stay over' last night with Wifey as well at the Belle Epoque in K-Knutsford
