    In the past, the police have quoted a tax check as the reason for stopping me. They then explained to me how much faster I would have been going if I hadn't seen them. This is the sort of attitude that makes bikers assume police have a hidden agenda.

    It was in the mcn some years bike that motorbike tax discs don't need to be displayed on bike for the amount of thefts being committed ,but it did say that it had to be in your presence when pulled over whether it be in your wallet,pocket ,under seat ect

    Wouldn't be first time MCN and other publications got this wrong, all vehicles must display a valid tax disc, why are new bikes supplied with it on display if it wasn't needed lol

    Roll on October then we can stop discussing this anyway ;)

    Word of warning people
    As you don't need to show a tax disc from October then more has to be done online and that leads to more con artists
    There are already people out there charging you for things like your E111 form and tax disc will be the same
    Always use the "gov" website and be careful of the top listed sites as they have paid to be there
    all they do is take your details and complete them on the gov website and rip you off for the privilege

    Good point, Google and its damn ads at top of page get people for more than they need when they search for stuff like this :( should www.gov.uk :)
