Just a blow out en route..... Nothing major! Lol no spare (oops - should of checked) so bit of a fooker that's all. All good on end
So was there a van with a blade wheel with a wet tyre magyver'd onto it traveling on the queens highways then?
Well another cracking day weather was perfect and I must say I do love Cadwell it's such a technical track in sections but ended the day on some pretty good lap times (1.43) which I was happy with considering there was a lot of traffic . Had a small low side on the hairpin on the mountain section partly my fault but I think I should of changed my rear tyre earlier as there wasn't much left on it as had been getting a lot of movement from it ,it was the best crash I could of asked for as I was tipped right over I didn't feel a thing and slid for about 30ft snapped right hand footpeg ,crash bung and scraped my bloody new exhaust and a small hole in my new leathers. The worst part of it was I did it in front of 3 police bikers who we're watching ,anyway quick repair of the footpeg and back out for next session. Jimbo and Dave who look Polish apparently finally arrived about 14 hours late will let them explain about that they got set up and Jimbo and Dave got out for the 3rd session . So a cracking day good to meet up with Mark and co and as you can see from the picture Jimbo put up it didn't take him long to find his way round the track we had some good sessions together finally and I am looking forward to racing at Cadwell with it been such a narrow track and a hard track to find overtaking points it's going to take big balls to do well there something Jimbo has plenty of ,me I need to switch from a trackday mentality to a racing one and hope I can over time .
Yup I gotta go same jase go from trackday to brain out racing ha ha glad you had a good one except the crash but as you say could of been worse . Good lap times
As said we arrived a little late due to a blow out on rear of the van (not had long and didnt think to check if we had a spare) so we nursed it to a lay by, fired up the BBQ, watched motd and chilled.... We only booked onto eve but thought we'd get on after lunch anyway so no panic. 730am waiting for tyre place to open some random bloke comes past as he heard two polish blokes having a BBQ had a blow out - top fella soon saw us on our way. We got up and jase had booked us on reserve so we was straight out... Hated it at first, like nothing I'd ridden before and with jase dialed in couldn't keep up - bollox. Sod racing here in two weeks ha Anyway few sessions in and it started coming together and really enjoyed it. It's tough, but a great challenge. Top lads and company as always and finally managed to put the new wagon to use... Afternoon sessions were great and me and jase took turns (and nearly a couple lumps out each other) in dragging each other round. Was awesome.... Cheers mate! Was ace. Dave having it on the mountain... Eve sessions were carnage tbh, first lap red flag happy but still got plenty of laps in.... But made for a bloody long day and very late night last night. But def worth it Cheers for the pic tyke
Not loads to add other than great meeting up with Jase, Mark and his pals. Massive thanks to Jimbo for once again loaning me the R1- Just a few pics
Sounds like i missed out on an awesome day there, wish I could have made it, but glad you all had a great day & a half
Van looks great Jimbo. Would love a go around Cadwell park, and it looks like you guys had a cracking couple of days for it.
cheers col - it's getting there! had couple issues with it but nothing major - awesome having it all set up though. just need to get it a little more "organised" lol... hmmm.. you wont say that after first session - it's a bit of a head fcuk first time out.... takes some getting used to i tell ya. prob not actually that far from you!?!?!? was 4hrs last night for us in one straight punt....
Google maps says Cadwell is about 5 hrs from me an would be just over 7hrs fae Col's place mate. Not really what u could call a local circuit for us!
