Pair blanking plates fitted after repairing 2 sheared bolts by drilling out and re-tapping. Plates came from Greece as per Gilesy, cheers for the link. Re-fitted radiator etc and running sweet so far.

Softened the suspension on the 600RR for the wife, then took it a short run to test myself too.
Went to the local J&S and got the wee man a jacket and some gloves and took him for a wee spin not blade.
First time having him on it, but he was great.
Just need to remind myself he is there as he weighs nothing at all.
Got some of those love handles, just so I know he is hanging on as he has been known to let go when on have wife's old Fazer.
    Great time though.

Need to get him trousers and wee boots too, but knew we were just having a wee bimble and he would be ok.

Completed refitting the freshly-repaired forks, and all of the associated gubbins that had to be removed... then cleaned it... then rode it for the first time in nearly 2 months!!!

    Absolutely frigging fabulous :D

Forgot to write down the suspension settings I had dialled in, so simply reset it to stock, then added a turn extra preload, half a turn extra rebound, and half a turn extra compression... felt very good, but that may just be the elation factor of finally getting back on the thing!

    I rode mine too...
Missus went clothes shopping with the kids, three girls. Are you coming with us? Erm no thanks.

Was out at 6:30am, got my dad and his bike out and headed to wales to the cafe at cerrigydrudion for breakfast and met up with my uncle who travelled from Anglesey. Went to Bala then onto lake vyrnwy to the cafe where my dad dropped his bike in the car park:rolleyes:
Stopped off for a brew at Pennant then through Corwen and onto Llangollen and the ponderosa, tea and a cream scone of course.
Eventually home at 6pm and 210 miles later, totally fallen back in love with my 09 Blade. Forget fancy suspended Blades and other bikes with electronic trinkets, this bike is here to stay.

Test of the day was my recovered seat by James in Falkirk, totally recommended if you suffer from a numb ass on long jaunts. Now having a few beers and reflecting on a great day but feck me it was cold this morning.

    Brilliant run out today.
Dumbarton, Inverary, Lochgilphead, Oban, Dalmally, Tyndrum, Crianlarich, Loch Lomond and home.
Was supposed to be back for 4pm for the wife going to work.
Got home at half 5. Think I am going to have to buy her one piece leathers to get back in the good books.
Haven't seen her yet as she left the kids with a neighbour.

Loads of blades out and about today, including two HRC ones at the petrol station in Dumbarton where we all had to queue up for juice. Was like the TT.
Nice RR7 there too, which I also saw against. Inverary and Oban.
Nice RR8 in burgundy colour at Inverary. Was a girl fully loaded up with camping gear.
Not sure if it was the same one at Oban minus the gear.

    Up at the green Welly.

Just fitted a new ( £162 ) racetec k2 on the rear of my blade.....trouble is that I only fitted a K2 tyre 2 weeks ago and got a nail in that one after 40 miles. don't you just love the sound of hissing air when you pull the nail out!! Doing Aragon with no limits in 2 weeks and thought about plugging it but decided to blow another £162 on a new one. WHY DOES IT HAPPEN TO ME...boo hoo.

Just fitted some Techspec snakeskin tank grips.

Couldn't be assed with crushing my nuts anymore on the tank after fitting the Brembo's. You get fed up quick of walking like John Wayne!
