Hi Guys, would it be possible for anyone running rearsets and hel rear lines to post a pic of your setup. I just fitted a rear line to my 2010 bike along with ses rearsets and im not too happy with the way the line is sitting- it almost seems too long with a big loop at the master cylinder, also did everyone re use the standard clamp/p clips on the swingarm ? as the rubber grommet on the hel line is far too small for these clamps. Any pics would be handy to put my mind at ease. Cheers
Hi Grant Can't help with your rear set setup but have the same issue with the original clamps being too big for the Hel brake lines ,have posted a pic so you can compare . I'm guessing with the rearset setup moves things slightly rearward which maybe causing the loop in your line,I'm sure someone on here will be able to clarify better than me and put your mind at ease. Cheers Stu
Hi mate iv only got the standard rear sets with my rear line but yeah I use the 2 original pclips at first I only used the one rearmost but didn't like the big loop so added the one toward the front, would it be possible to see your rear sets?
Thanks for your input guys , I will post some pictures up later of my rearsets/brake line. I have ordered some p clips off eBay so will see if these fit the hose and secure it a bit better but as it stands I'm really not too happy with the fit of the line . I do know there will be a bit of slack in the line as I've moved the mas cyl back but I'll see if I can get it sitting. Bit more tidy on the swing arm Thanks
Hi , yes I've tried it with and without the 2nd clip and was still not too happy with it , the big problem is that the oe p clips are too big for the grommets you get on the hel lines , I've got various p clips ordered from eBay which will hopefully be a better fit. I've also scoured the internet for pics and the general setup is that most have done without the second clip , I'll try it with the new clips and see how it goes. Cheers
If you cut the old one off with snips you should find it wraps round the Hel rubber and fits the OE clip perfect oh it's glued on so slide the snips in cut in line and peal off.
Thanks Arthur , I did think of that but thought it wouldn't work with the hel line being a good bit thinner than the oe hose but in putting a bit more thought into it then I think this is the ideal solution and will also allow the brake line to move a bit in the rubbers slightly through suspension travel etc Thanks again Grant
The SES rear sets sit at miby 10-15 degrees off the upright position of the OEM rear set which sends the brake line out at a different angle than stock. Not sure there is too much you will be able to do to bring it down very much, even putting more clips on I think it will still sit pretty high. On the p clip issue tho, I used the method Arthur described and cut the old OEM rubbers off the old lines and then fit them onto the hel line allowing the OEM clip to clip back onto the OEM rubbers.
Thanks very much for all the help guys, I used the standard rubbers and trimmed down the HEL ones slightly and im now happy with them. Does anyone in the know recommend running with both p clips or just the one closest to the caliper ? When it only has one clip then it looks like there's lots of slack to allow the swingarm to move , however there is the big loop at the master cylinder as in the pic's attached. When it has both clips it looks a lot more factory but seems a bit restricted at the master cylinder side , and im not sure it'll allow the swingarm to move without damaging the line. Id like to think of myself as fairly competent on working on my bikes however this silly brake line is just annoying me to the point im tempted to just refit the standard line. Pics of both setups attached. cheers
Would probably be the easiest option , however I've just got it on and all bled up and press switch wired etc etc so really don't want to strip it off again, another pain is that im due to go offshore on work and don't have the time. thanks for the offer though. Grant

Glad you posted this, I have kind of the opposite problem in that my rear Hel line is too short! I have Gilles rearsets, but like them forward and high (shortarse). The hose isn't long enough to use half of the rearset positions. How do I get a longer hose if they are this length in the standard blade kit?
