Love the joey rep When I was in the market to buy a blade loved the look of both RR6 (red and black ) and the RR8 (black and white) Read all the magazine tests and the RR 8 was coming out as a better bike Some of the forums were moaning about the RR8 being an oil burner but that still didn't put me off , I wanted the newer blade I am the second owner of my blade ,the first owner did have issues with the bike burning oil but honda changed the engine under warranty and have had no issues since I love my back and white blade I have put some ( I think ) tasteful mods on the bike to make it even better Would I px it , yes I would but only for an SP and they are way out my price range so the blade will be staying for a few more years Just go for it
But to sort the suspension could cost a fortune (that I don't have) I rode an sp the other day and fell in love. Had 400 miles on the clock and was up for £13k but couldn't afford that
I have had 2004 Blade (954), 2 RR6 Blades and 3 RR8's I currently have the 2011HRC colour scheme. I have never had a real problem with oil consumption on my RR8's and in terms of ease of riding the RR8's are much better than the RR6 (IMHO), however, my favourite has to be the 954 Blade, it is a phenomenal bike in all respects and I am currently seriously considering getting another one as a second bike. Of course it is all a matter of opinion and will always depend on your style of riding.
A newer bike will always be better . ( it has been developed from previous bike). Any bike from the last 10 years will be good. Don't think many riders can ride them to there limit . Its the skill an experience of the rider that counts.
Looks great! I had the same choice lately but went for the RR7 purely as it felt a better fit for me. I'm 6'2 and the RR8 felt a bit cramped.
Ha, I'm 6'3 and found the RR6 uncomfortable. Bought an RR8 as it was much comfier. The tank was too wide and was not natural gripping it Horses for courses!
i just went from a RR5 Repsol to a RR9 Repsol Bought the RR9 from my brother - he said he has not noticed loosing oil in his ownership.. my RR5 was getting old, new panels cost an arm and a leg - second hand ones never pop up on ebay.. I am Loving the RR9...looks shiny, clean, and rides well...
