Hi Gents. I haven't been on the forum for a while so i thought i should drop by and say hello! I took the R1 out for a charity ride out last Sunday (the 27/4/14), from the Cat and Fiddle in Macclesfield to Matlock Bath. I left home for the Fiddle around 10.30 Sunday morning. I took my usual route through Matlock, Bakewell and Buxton. Got a decent ride - not too many cars. I followed a guy in a Mini cooper on the twisties in the section between Bakewell and Buxton - or should say tried to. He was an absolute demon driver. I backed off in the end for fear of crashing! Some of the corners were still a bit slippy and covered in crap, but TBH i think i would have struggled to stay with him in perfect conditions. Couldn't honestly believe it. anyway, the ride back was more sedate as there were around 300 of us meandering back to Matlock Bath. Good turn out. It was for "fallen hero's". Weather stayed fine. I didn't think it would happen as the forecast was for thunderstorms all week. It seems to have been a long time since i rode the bike a good few miles. really enjoyed it. The Sportsmart 2s are well bedded in now, so all is good.
It's a good run out from Cat & Fiddle to Matlock - done it quite a few times now. Sounds like the mini driver was a bit of a nob - best you tried to avoid any issues as a result of him tbh...
Ken - new one. Rob - got it last October. The SV just didn't do it for me. It's a 2008 4C8. JM1 -thanks. Mines an old one though. Would like the 14B. Si - they do sound great.
Bloody hell Steve.......... but id agree the SV did nt seem to have the ding dong factor.....so what was wrong with the Datsun ??
No it didn't. Felt slow after the blade and RC8 too. Nothing wrong with the Datsun - time for a change. You know I get itchy feet.
