Went for an evening ride out with a few lads, probably over a 100 mile round trip mainly through fast A and B roads. At the end of the ride we pulled into a McD's to get a bite to eat and the lads got coffees and had a smoke.I set off with a few and left Kev and Dan still smoking. They then set off themselves minutes later. Dan moved off then keeled over pulling the throttle and let the clutch go.Him and the bike launched into the carpark spinning his rear wheel and hopping from side to side with Dan still holding on until the bike spat him off.Kev ran over to see what was wrong to see Dan out cold.Dan came round just as Kev was getting his phone out to dail 999.He stopped dailing and helped Dan come round and up onto his feet.Dan didn't know what happened and just blacked out. They picked his bike up and assessed the damage.Broken fairing etc. What he had was a mystery so Dan booked the next day off work to see his doctor. In the morning he lost the sight in one eye.He is now being assessed by Doctors at a hospital. He had had headaches for a while and never gave it a thought to be serious. We were all wondering what if he had a black out whilst riding? That would have been catastrophic. Keep you posted on what they find.
Oh **** that's not good! Hope it all works out ok for him and glad there was no serious injuries from the accident, as you say could of been alot worse!
Jesus. I hope he's OK. As you say it's a good job it happened when it did and not when he was travelling at speed. Fingers crossed for him.
Sorry to hear that Sideways. I hope it is something minor and easily sorted out. Hope he gets sorted out by the Doctors.
Wow - lucky he wasn't riding like you said! Finger crossed for him - hopefully it's not something too serious
Should day, "headache turned into a lifesaver" mate. Glad he found out now, rather than riding his bike. The guy could have been killed and could have injured others. I do hope he gets sorted SW, and pass on my best.
Thanks peeps.Going to pop in and see him tomorrow.MRI scan and brain scan done, just waiting for consultants to tell him what he's got.
Wow, my very best wishes to him, im watching the news this morning and they are reporting that people that are experiencing mild strokes and not knowing it...... I truly hope he makes a speedy recovery...
Indeed. My Dad had a stroke, took ages to go to the doctor to have it diagnosed. Ignored their urgent advice to alter his diet and stop smoking and little under a year later had a massive heart attack which killed him. I'm a staunch believer in us blokes keeping a close eye on our blood pressures, heart rates and cholesterols. No need to be obsessive but burying your head in the sand and pretending that everything's fine is daft. Have check-ups and if you spot any anomalies then speak to your doctor, people.
