OK .. First off .. I really love the Dunlop Sportsmart2's they are awesome .. I was getting my knee down after 100 miles or so, there are no strips on the rear .. and the front is getting smaller and smaller .. I can really crank the bike over, they are half decent in the wet too!!!!. And second .. if you DON'T buy you tyres from Tyreleader.co.uk you need your head tested. They are cheaper than eBay.
As I already posted Rosso Corsa £221 delivered from Tyreleader. £20 to get them fitted, great tyres for £240.
Has anyone tried the S20 Evo yet and would anyone go for the standard S20 pair on eBay via the link above?
S20 - no way.... Great tyre, very good in wet, I killed a rear in 4 days on Scotland tour, was showing carcass little after 1000 miles and didnt even get me home. 2 days of the riding was in the pissing down rain too That's what converted me to pr3/4's Not even seen the evo though? So can't comment on that....
I'm not too fussy what tyre I use I just change my riding stye to suit even on trackdays.I find its tyre pressures that make the big diffrence. Iv'e had a few slides now an again but just get on with it an ride around it . I've never had a problem with any sports tyre when there warm just want a tyre that lasts longer . Only get up to 2000 miles out of a rear Going for PR4,s next when I get my new wheels . Sports tyres just don,t last .
Totally agree mate. And I can honestly say the pr3's/4's in no way slow you (well me anyway) down on the road. They are epic and +5k a set brilliant value for money. Could keep the front bit longer but at that price and milage might as well have fresh boots all round
I'm running on S20s and so far so good. I'm not heavy on the throttle but they have done a trackday school with no complaint.
My vote would also go for Michelin. The grip in dry and wet is great, it really helps your confidence. Bridgestone has couple of good track tyres (R10s), but the road tyres are in IMHO a big disappointment; no wonder many call them 'Brickstone' ') Get yourself a set of PP 2CTs for £190-200, or PR4s for £230-240. The latter is slightly above your budget, but come on, it is only £40!
I have Dunlop Sportsmarts on my 08RR and they are amazing. Great mileage and dont take long to warm up
