RR7 PC3 Firmware Upgrade

Plugged the laptop into the PC3 today. I noticed that the firmware is rather old compared to the version available on the DynoJet website. Mine is Firmware Version: 1.0.0.20 whilst DynoJet have version 2.3.2.

I have read the instructions and it says to use a new 9v battery and connect to the expansion port but I don't have any cables etc to connect a battery to the PC3 as none came from the previous owner.
So questions are:
1 - Is it worth upgrading the firmware?
2 - Does it have to have a 9v battery fitted?
3 - If it need the battery does anyone know where I can source the cable/adapter from?

 

As far vas I am aware, you only need to use the external battery if you haven't got the PC connected to a bike. As yours is connected, it will power itself up from the bike

I might have one knocking about, has it got a ten pin male connecter at the pc3 end? If so its the one I have, you can have it if you want, pm me your address if you want it and I'll pop it in the post next week.
