What does CBR stand for?

    I may leave my self open to the obvious but what does CBR stand for and for that matter RR

    I know what the 1000 is all about though:eyebrows:

    Can't remember exactly, but...
    CB identifies that it's an inline engine, except the 125 single cylinder of course ;)
    R designates it as a sports (or racing) model
    The RR at the end means race replica.

    EDIT - some people say CB stands for "Cross Beam" and some say "City Bike" (I think Cross Beam is probably correct)

    Its a good question Carl.
    It actually stands for "Cool, Brash and Rapid" The 1000 is self explanatory and the final abbreviation is for "Rapid like the Rabbit", or sometimes "Roger Rabbit"
    Its obviously a Japanese proverb that gets a bit lost in the translation.

    Race Replica I think. what the CBR stands for? maybe "CB" stood for 'cross beam' and the "R" simply for 'racer'

    CB is City Bike, the R is Racer... The RR is race replica or race ready

    I once saw this self same question posed on an American forum. It went on for page after page until somebody posted that as the FireBlade appeared to be more popular in the UK than in the States it probably stood for 'Cheap British Ride'.

    As you can imagine, I attempted to be suitably pithy with my response, alluding to the abject shit that most Americans accept as satisfactory workmanship in their riding irons as being several thousand components flying in close formation.

    There are many reports of it being 'Cross Beam' based on it's frame, but before the Blade Honda had CB as the prefix for their road bikes, CL for trail, CD for commuter etc, so it seems more likely that it does indeed stand for City Bike, and the R is deffo Racer.

    ....or Constant Bit Rate.

    Actually I've changed my mind, I'm going to go out on a limb and plump for Cross Beam, not that anyone cares what I think.... 'sob'
