Hi all, my neighbour was having a quick look at my bike yesterday and he asked how fast it would go, I replied "don't really know, 180ish". So I was just wondering if any of you have ever done a flat out run on track or runway day with 08-11 fireblade? Post up your top speedo and GPS figures if you have them. Thanks in advance. Andy B

Hi Andy I've had her up to 183mph!!!.... before I bottled it and she was still pulling at that speed! So comfortably do more than that mate I've done that speed once but I'm not in a hurry to repeat it because if anything was to happen at those speed there ain't no coming back Seamingly 09 &10 Blades are restricted to 186 but newer Blades are down to 175,179 for some reason!.. 189 on a standard demonstrator, my first time on a 1ltre bike.I bought a black n white one when I gave it back Unfortunately that speed doesn't cut it for me, its blurringly mind boggling.I prefer twisties and tracks
You weren't tucked in enough dude I found it surreal and couldn't believe I was actually traveling that fast!!.. altho I did have the high screen fitted at that time
So 190ish is very achievable huh depending on variables ie weight, size, conditions, temps and such. Do any of you know of anywhere (preferably in the northwest) that I could go and legally give it go? Hit the 299kmph on autobahn twice (the speedo only goes to that) and was still pulling...... but the speedo is well out at that speed. The speedo was reading 299 kph, sat nag said 170mph ish... but after a short while sat nag said 188 mph and was still pulling.... bloody fast enough for me. i overtook my mate on his R6 like he was standing still, and i had a **** load of luggage. at that speed though, the road narrows in your vision and you can't help but laugh yer tits off.
Hi Andy it was on a long straight and got there quickly and felt like it could go more but had to back off. As others have said over 170mph becomes a bit of a exciting blur

Must have been an R1 to get that in first gear? He'd have got 188mph in clip if he had a decent exhaust instead of TM
Nah mate, I was on a 'blade. When I told my dad he said " Was that lying on the tank or lying on the 'speedo' son?".
was that GPS? Only asking because the bikes speedo stops at 186mph/299kph. At least mine does on the 2011.
