Must get a 'rip' on one. It's the only bike I'd even consider chopping the 'blade in for. The DCT version has been getting some very interesting revues.

Needs must mate, was either that or leave the luggage at the hotel or on the road somewhere with anyone behind trying not to smash into it.

Didn't set off like it, was an emergancy solution. Point being, the seats curl.

I'd be a little worried of the seat bracket and latch being man enough to hold a fully loaded top box, but then never tried it and does look a great solution.

The seat doesn't hold person, the pillion stops themself from falling off by holding the rider or whatever.

I'm not saying it doesn't work btw

In the highly unlikely event that the latch fails there's a fail safe,2 metal hooks, but like I said I've done it and you'd rip the box off the base way before the seat ever failed

Mate, whats the point of buying a quality bike and then leaving it at home, and using a lardyarsed tourer?

You know you will regret it after about 10 miles.

Our European raids always run around 400-500 miles a day, just non stop full on riding. All I ever take is my trusty rucksack, pants do 2 days ( stick em in the outside mesh pocket to air them), lightweight base layers, few pairs socks, shorts and something like beach shoes for the evening, toiletries and chain lube.

Job done, don't forget you are a hard hairy assed biker, not an hairdresser.

I'll repeat myself, great idea/solution. My seat has a latch at the front and two plastic arms at the back that slide under the subframe, but then I've only had the bike four years so may have missed the fail safes.

I don't use bungee ropes, I have no scratched paint on the tail and I've explained the gaffer tape.

Sorry OP for hijacking the tread.

This is the set up you want...assuming the SP has the holes in the right place to fit it.
