Kriega. Get a US20 and a US10 or two. They combine nicely and are fully waterproof.

Others will say to go the Ventura route but you would then need to buy their rack as well.

I have Kriega US20 and US10 and they are superb.
They hold a good amount too.
Did France and Ireland last year found quite a bit of rain and the luggage stayed bone dry

Buy cheap buy twice. Kriega aren't cheap but they are good. Had mine nearly 6 years now and never had a problem.

Looking at the pictures...they open from the top..and not at the widest part...if that makes sense...is that right?

So will need to be emptied to get to the bottom (as its very narrow)?

Yes need to be opened from the top as it's a roll top which makes it waterproof. And yes if will need to be emptied to get to the bottom. Put what you need at the top then you won't need to get to the bottom !

I am in the Kriega camp ! And yes they are effectively a very well designed and made roll top dry bag with a brilliant and very secure modular connection system.

Okay..so looking at the a kriega not sure if I should do US30 and US10?

    Or is 20 & 10 ok?

I will have a renntec RAC fitted - would these two strap to the rack? I guess I will have space for another rucksack too..?

How narrow is the Kriega bag opening? Will I have to squash up everything? Thinking about creasing my clothes...?

Just do the us30 unless you want to have stuff in separate bags. Plenty room left to attach a rucksack on the rack too. The kriega attachment loops go onto the rack so no tugging on the rear seat pad. Search renntec rack threads,am sure there's a picture of a blade loaded up with kriega.
Update... It's the Kriega Q's thread, pics of sinewaves bike with it all fitted.

The newest Kriega is even better with the hook end straps. I have a 20 and two 10s on the side of it, also got a 5 on a tank adaptor. The tank straps fit better if you fit some double ended studs instead of the front tank bolts.
