The ZX came set up for this but I decided against it with using a regular shift on the road as well, thought it might lead to an expensive mistake otherwise!

I'm considering setting my R6 track bike up as race-shift just to make it easier to change up the gears when coming out of left handers.

Remembering that most bikes now have slipper clutches what could possibly go wrong????

Me riding a mates bike with conventional shift without a Slipper.

If I'd left the ZX in Race Shift I'd av converted the Blade also.

Makes U wonder why the OEM's chose the worldwide accepted pattern they did?

Well after a long chat yesterday with Nokishitytitoe Hondas Chief Mechanic From 1920 till 2010, (he's now moved to Yamaha after agreeing a 20 year contract). Anyway he said its because going up is easier to remember, so up movement with the foot means going up through the gears, down movement with the foot means going down through the gears....:D

That makes sense for road riding.

The reason they call it 'race-shift' is because it's difficult to get your foot under the gear lever to change up when cranked over to the left so by changing it to tap down to change up it makes it easier to go up through the gears when accelerating out of the apex (confused myself a little there)

Yeah I use race shift and convert my road bikes too. Much prefer it on track. On road it matters very little

Easy change on the blade just cut some of the sprocket cover out i have some pics on here somewhere

Ive done the race shift "13 plate blade" i find it better. But when tootling along through towns etc i have gone down instead of up and vice verse afew times. And once i tryed setting off from a rail crossing in 6th... that made me chuckle.

I'm not quick enough to worry about such things.
So think I will stick to what I got.
Like a quick shifter not really sure I'll ever need one.
Pull the throttle back and she shifts quick enough for me

I've converted my R6 to race shift now. I'll try it out at Silverstone meet.
