hey everyone :) just a quick one been running my 675 daytona as a track bike just finally getting the funds to get back on track well when i sort a new job rather than this one haha,

just wondering has anyone made the jump from 600 up to a 1000 on track if so how did you find it, was nosying at road stocks at mallory for next year,

smitten again with the blade so was thinking of getting one to keep at work and to td / race next year.

    Cheers,

    Tom

Went from a 600 to my fireblade. Honestly first time I rode it I was expecting it to be a bigger jump than it was.

Noise.. they are quite loud !

Awesome bike for track use IMO. So easy to ride fast! Both my brother and I started doing TD's together, me on my blade and him on a big bang R1 and we both agreed it's been far easier for me to tame the blade on track than he has coped with the R1. The standard slipper clutch on the 08 onwards is really really good!

All the best with it! ;)

Why would you want to go from a 675 to a Blade?

The 675 posted a quicker Lap time than either a SP Blade or the latest ZX10R around Mallory Park in the latest tests for Fast Bikes by Mr Rutter.

There is a local guy whose a part time instructor for No Limits who won last years New Comers section in some Racing Catagory on a Blade.

This year he's fecked it off for a Daytona 675R!

    Nuff said it seems?

That's is Not correct, the sp was a second faster per lap, but the 675 did beat the 10r by 0.08s but that's Mallory for you, on a longer be faster track the blade would be even more ahead at that rate ;)

Either way Simon we 'Split Hairs'

If the OP currently owns a 675 then changing will only cost him money with no gain?

...........and bare in mind this comparison is against an SP which has Ohlins and Brembo gear as standard!

If the Op is considering a standard Blade or Tracker then the 675 is ahead already!

work owe me a shed load so can keep the 675 as well as the blade if I get a second one just for racing thinking roadstocks and superstocks :) next year is going to be really serious for the racing as many meetings as i can pysicaly handle so got this year to get up to race pace :) exciting times

+ had the trumpet for aaages and they arn't totally without there issues no matter what the mags say had a road one that nuked itself when new and triumph were useless after service wise even though one of there main dealers blew it up lol

My mate was running sub 1m40's on a 675r at Cadwell the other month which was quicker than a lot of the 1000's.

I'd have loved to have got a 675R but my budget only went as far as the 2006 R6 i've bought. It is tricked out though with Ktech front & rear, power commander ignition module and quick shifter and more.

thats not quite right mr wave.

mick Alderson won the hottrax newcomers/rookies on his blade and he still has it (quick bugger an'all),it's his mate martin that has chopped in his blade (same colours) for the 675 although he did do few rounds in the NL series, dont think he won it though, will ask him tomorrow.....both instructers for NL.

You wont be disappointed with the r6 andy. I hated mine at first but after cadwell round we clicked!! Gone fastest on that now than the gsxr 750 and the blade

No disrespect but isn't the ability more of a factor rather than the bike??
    Go for the Blade.
As it happens I have one ready to go shortly ; )

Ye tyke, my R6 bit me the other week but I'm definitely quicker in the corners than I am on the blade.

I'm quicker in the corners on the R6, but my laptimes are a bit quicker( one track 3 secs for only 2 miles)... buy a blade off Yorkshiregooner, mine come from him, I think it's my 4th from him or so ;) no problems what so ever
