Thought so - so your total excess (ie what will be deducted from any claim you make / the first part you pay) is £700 not £100
Fuckin right rip off, whole idea of insurance is we pay it, ever have an accident get paid out what the accident costs. Now we have ridiculous policy premiums, that in the event of a claim we stand the first grand ourselves. Unless we take yet another policy out to cover the excess. Fuckin Bp @ boiling point
I find changing the policy once in place is usually a pain..also you get stung with high admin fees..which are bundled into the price. Over all I found insurances are down..paid I think £160 on my repsol..and not much more on my car insurances either...
Most companies seem to charge around £40 for any policy change, Adelaide who I am through only charge £17 so not too bad. I think high excess's make a lot of people not bother claiming if the damage is under £1000.
Yep, i did..... and as said for the cost of it you can save more than paying a lower excess !!! Utter madness, but it works for me.
I have made a few changes to my policy and got charged zero ? Private plate change, then months later exhaust etc..... nothing.
I think all the brokers are out to get us. They tempt us with their cheap quotes then f*&k us over at every opportunity. In January this year I re-insured my Gixer 1000 - Broker was A1 Quote and I was with Axa - £79 TPFT sounded a bargain - so I took it. February, I decided to have a change and bought an FZ1 (don't ask) so rang said broker to swap over the policy. I was told that my current insurer (Axa) wouldn't quote on that bike (WTF?) and offered me an alternative quote for £170+ I cancelled the insurance but because it had been on cover for over 30 days got NIL back from it. So, I got a quote with Swintons for the FZ1 - £71 TPFT - with Axa again!! Hmmmm Anyway, I took it and off I went. Long story short, I hated the ZF so bough the Blade. Guess what? When I phoned Swintons they told me that my current insurer (Axa) wouldn't quote. Again I was forced to cancel and got F$&k all back again! Now the stinger - got the Blade insured with Bennetts - fully Comp £145 - Guess who with? Yup - bloody Axa again!!!!! Moral of the story - don't swap your bike till renewal time....... Bastards................
£326 from MCE with pillion and riding abroad, excess and no claims protection. If the claim is over £1500 it wont cost me a penny, what prang is gonna be less? if it dont look that bad I might have to jump up and down on it to make sure. Im 53, been riding 3 years since returning to bikes after 30 years
