Hi all, since getting my bike about 6 weeks ago ive been doing a lot more riding than taking pics, but today im on call, the bikes clean and the sun is out so i thought id introduce my new bike to the forum with a couple of pictures. its 2009 with 8,000 miles on the clock and cost me £5600. as far as condition goes it is pretty much mint apart from a few stone chips, but as you can see it is somewhat lacking in goodies. i plan to get a sponsor sticker set, quickshifter, hugger and maybe an exhaust (if i can find one that isnt too loud and doesnt need mapping to keep it running perfect) maybe Akra Anniversary. all good comments welcome ps, i really wish i was better at taking pics. i cant wait to meet Barney at a track and get him on the case lol. Thanks a lot for looking. Andy B
Nice machine Andy and nothing wrong with them photos . Strange really we all go and change the exhaust as a matter of course but looking at the standard kit it's not a bad looking item and maybe the best OE exhaust of any bike.
Thanks for good feedback. I'm not defo going to change the exhaust and it's not top of my list (sorry PJ) but I would prefer something that looks and sounds a bit better without needing power commander, if that doesn't exist then I will happily live with the OE because as you say "it's not bad looking". Andy B
Yeah I might just give it a shot seeing as it's a two minute job and easily reversed. Cheers for the headsup, I'd never heard of this being done before. Andy B
I'd def get an HM Quickshifter before an exhaust, catch up with Restone and ask for a shot of his to see how you find it, or mine when I get over to Wales - maybe do the flapper mod thing as a start Some engine 'case savers' could be another good option and R&G cotton reels on front forks Have you put heated grips on it yet ? Prob. most useful addition I put on mine - the R&G £40 kit works fine
Just got an akrapovic slip on today, big improvement on standard pipe, both in looks and sound, not bothered with the full system like some as it's fast enough as it is. 4.5 bhp extra and no need for a power commander etc etc
Andy : HM Quickshifter are extremely proud to announce a new product to our line up, the HM Plus SS. This unit is built on the huge success of our existing Plus as the reliability and performance are second to none and has been tried and tested over the past 8 years by some of the biggest teams and names in the motorcycle racing world not to mention by the many 000's of you and it is coupled with the latest technology as used in the Quickshifter GP. The unit has already been tried and tested at the IOM TT this year with Gary Johnson and Michael Rutter amongst others using it. The Plus SS is a new generation Plus but with a twist. It features the amazing HMSS technology from our Quickshifter GP which no other Quickshifter in the world can replicate regardless of what they claim. This new Plus SS does not require a PC for set up nor is any calibration required. It is simply Plug and Play like the existing Plus. The price for the new Plus SS is £416.75 + VAT and is available now but initial quantity is extremely limited with normal stock levels due around July time. HM Quickshifters UK Ltd are very proud to manufacture the complete product as with all our range at our factory in Kent, UK. Cheers for the offer of a try of your bike with the QS, I might take you up on it if this weekend goes to plan, as for the heated grips, pfffft, it might encourage me to go out in the cold lol Cheers wedgie (lee is it?). Was good to meet you too, look forward to next time your racing in the area, it was a real good day out. Thanks Clarkey, I'm lovin it more than I ever thought, it really is amazing. It's even better than lager for putting a stupid grin on my face lol Your bike is what mine aspires to be Steve, very very cool mate. The exhaust looks really good but if is cat free then it will probably be a bit loud for me. I'm going to a track at the weekend where I'm hoping to have a closer look and listen to a few of our forum members bikes and try and find what suits me. Thank you all again for the kind words about my new pride and joy. Andy B
It's not cat free mate, there are 2 versions of end can that look the same, mine has a butterfly valve in like the standard exhaust, but does sound a lot better but not too loud . If need be I can remove the baffle for a bit more noise. Only just got put on today so I ain't listened to it going down the road yet, gunna let one of my mates ride it & see what it's like Steve
Andy, Where you heading at the weekend? Maybe able to meet and let you hear the noise out of mine ( and I do mean noise ) also have a HM+ quickshifter fitted. Bryan
Gotta disagree there Kevin1 , here's before and after, top pic is 1st March day I picked the bike up, bottom is today after the pipe. Chalk and cheese
