Just a quick question re rear vibration at speeds over 100. Did Silverstone TD yesterday in the wet (fitted wets at the track). The bike had a bad vibration at speeds from the rear. Now it was a mad rush, I had about 5 mins to fit the front and rear before my first session. So am unsure if it was something I did wrong when fitting the wheels or if the guy who fitted the tyres just did not balance them right. it was only noticeable over 80-100. The brakes and handling felt fine just the vibration at speed The wheels had been fitted correctly and I cannot see anything I may have done wrong but will check it tonight. Thoughts? poor fitting by me or bad balancing by the tyre guy? (TD report and more about meeting Baron Von Grumble later) What a nice guy
Are you using the same wheels as before, or different wheels with wet tyres? If its the same wheels and they were ok with the previous tyres, then it can only be the wet tyres....If it was something more sinister you would have known about at track speeds
Well managed to get a local place to put my road tyres back on for £20. some wanted £35 FFS Well I also got them to check the balance of the rear due to the vibration at speed and seems the circuit tyre fitted was 45 grms out one side and the other 50grams out. No wonder I had fun vibrations over a ton
