One of my mates has ordered one of these. they seem to be selling like hot cakes. he paid a deposit and has to wait 3 weeks for the bike! Look on ebay, second hand ones are selling for a couple of hundred quid less than new. Very nice bike though.
I like them and was tempted. Prices will drop for secondhand models as time goes on, been a really big seller so we'll see increasing numbers out there soon. Saw one at local bike meet and it really is a slim bike. I thought the blade was small but the 899 felt smaller. Have you seen BVG ride on the 899 on YouTube? He loved it once he found the right mode.
Very nice bike, think it has the right balance of power and handling for the road and looks stunning, the new GSX-R750 ? Is the R1 going Mr Betts
Seen one in the flesh in London with twin Termi's on and it was farkin loud! Lovely bikes and have that ideal 150 figure for the roads as BVG points out in his vid definitely a fantastic bit of kit.
I met a chap at the weekend that bought one, six months and 154 miles later and sold it back to the dealer for the same price, the dealer had a buyer lined up with a profit in it for him, that would suggest a low mileage example could achieve more than a new one just now. He bought a new blade, the Ducati looks nice but it's not a blade?
Nice bike but pity it doesn't have the single-sided swingarm of it's big brother. If it did - it would deffo sell even more!
That's what I thought, there's nothing to it, and after the blade tank it just felt a bit skinny. But as mentioned above the noise was something else, really loud.
1 of my mates has the 1199 been for several rides on it and can't get used to the v twin lumpy low down and not a smooth power delivery, not been on my other mates 899 to see if it's the same, best looking bikes on the road by far. Could hang one on a wall to just look at. Got on my blade and it was that smooth in comparison I thought I was on an electric bike. Review I saw of 899 said it was a middle weight not a heavy weight, think it was fast bikes mag. If it's enough for the road I don't know Steve
Really slim and wide bars feels like you a riding the front wheel and the rear is elsewhere, hence the double sided swing arm to improve handling of 1199', great noise but at a cost of 1500 plus ,12 grand for the power of a 750 then comes the servicing costs and hot arse and bolts flying off the heat shield. Didn't go for one as wanted a change from 848 after 4 years and ££££ later on running costs.
Matey DougieM picks his Panigale 899 up tomorrow a replacement for his 2010 Blade that was mowed down in Edinburgh whilst parked up by a fud nugget driver!... A silver lining if I've every heard one
Was at Ryders in Cardiff the other week and they had a number of panigale's sitting there looking for new homes.
DougieM popped round with his new baby he picked up today Yes that is the sun in the back ground . See we do get it in Scotland sometimes
