Just out of interest, which of these two bikes would you choose if you were using them for getting to work etc.... a decent 954 can cost the same as a similar mileage RR5 which is priced right....... i know the RR3 has a cult following but is it really that good and would it be a better bet than an RR5 ???
I ride an rr5 and would choose it all day long over a 954. I rode mine everyday right up until last week end as I've taken it of the road and now using my hack for the winter.
Get the RR5.. My mate has a very low milage ZX6-R 2007 for sale . he has just lowered the price to 3800 which is a steal
That ZX looks good.... but not a 2007, to race reppy for me, the previous 636 was a better bet..... interesting ref the RR5... There are a few going about and they do seem a lot less than even an RR6 !!!
RR5 and RR6 are slightly different models thats why . There are updates on the RR6 Its not a good time to be selling . Good if your buying thou !! lol.. Iv seen a few bikes go extremely cheap over the last few weeks
Which is exactly why i am looking now, i figure with no px and cash i should be able to get a reasonable deal, i just don't want to spend a fortune on my first sportsbike and wish i had not bothered at best if i don't like the sportsbike ownership experience i can always sell it in summer and i should not lose too much if anything.
Sounds like a plan fella. at the oldest i would go 2004 but i would try for a 2006 to have the updates
I personally dont think the updates are worth the extra wonga to be fair. You dont get alot more for loads more dosh. Also prefer the shape of the plastics on the rr4 & rr5
I had the option of buying an rr6 when i got mine. The rr5 won me over even though the rr6 I was looking at was in repsol colours. Just dont look right in my opinion.
Honda made over 200 mods from 5 to 6, they changed 60% of the bike.. Posted on my HTC Sensation with Tapatalk
99% of them are so minimal hardly anyone would notice. I couldn't tell any difference when i test rode one.
Cheers guys, just been looking and there are some real bargains for both RR5 and RR6 models, i have seen RR6's with decent miles going for £4,500 !! Some dealer just take the mickey with prices for RR6 bikes the same as some RR9's being sold privately, but there you go. Thanks for all the help with this, i just need to get one close by me (Manchester).
I travled to near manchester to pick my bike up and i live near bournemouth. In my opinion you need to be able to travle to get the right bike.
the engine has a shed load more punch in the mid range, the suspension is completely different valved, the HESD was better, the exhaust system better and most of all the RR7 is sooooooooooooo much better looking.
All the RR4/5s ive ever rode live up to the nick name they were given "the gentlemans express" they feel very sports touring as the motor was sooo smooth and the final drive over geared, they imo do hold mid turn a little more nutral over the quicker turning rr6 but I find them nothing like each other, the mods may be small but they changed lots with the motor, intake ports and much more.. The rr4+ can be be sorted somewhat by a full system, intake, mapping and gearing etc but stock I think they are flat over same year gsx's etc and the market felt the same. I would not say its a bad bike at all but I do feel Honda moved forwards with the rr6 just the same as they did with the rr8. Posted on my HTC Sensation with Tapatalk
Im just saying I personally didnt feel any difference between the 2. Although my rr5 has +2 -1 an the sprockets so that could be something to do with it.
