Do M4s make a lot of difference comparing to oem monoblocks especially on track? Thanks.

Personally I think a mc, lines, and decent pads are money better spent.

Sure Brembo are better but how much like you say, fella I race against (well watch him feck off) has em on his blade, says they didn't make a huge difference on top of the above?

I'm on stock and would love to try back to back but don't have that luxury at the mo and was so impressed with my MC upgrade alone. Think that is too good for stock suspension tbh so like anything to get the most - everything needs upgrading :( but splitting hairs...

Know Dave v put them on his with standard mc and said they did bite harder.

    They look sexy though ;)

I have done all of above and it's not what I have been expecting. Dunno why but lever is a bit spongy. The system been bleeded dozen of times and no joy. This is why I have started thinking about changing calipers.

Love the dual carbon on mine, i found the oem fade a little? But could of been mc

Can never remember which is which but does your rcs have the settings change available? I like mine progressive (accossato) where as nav had his on like this and couldn't get on with it, switched over and loved it? Just a thought?

Run motul rbf 600 fluid and can't fault it tbh.

tbh theres far better things to spend your money on than new calipers, for what are already better than you really need.i suspect theres an issue in your set up if your having problems.

oh and that 500 quid could go on a tuition day, will be much better spent money.

I've got braided lines, RCS 19 and standard calipers, even on an ABS the lever is rock solid. Raises the rears in a nice controlled fashion which is plenty braking for me!
Had some M4s on the wish list for some time but quite happy with the current setup, if some cash comes my way I will probably still get them!

Currently running on 20 ratio where there is less lever travel and harder feel, you running on 18?

Also read this, its a sure fire way to ensure you bleed every last bit of air out (especially hard on the ABS)

Yes I can switch between 19x18 and 19x20. Before RCS I had brembo 19x18 and it was spongy too. Bought it 2nd hand so thought it might be a reason. Changed it to brand new RCS but problem persists. Been using motul brake fluid before and it didn't make any difference.

Am running 20 at the mo and not happy at all.

The 18 you had would have been more spongy / progressive.... What is yours currently set on? The 20 is a great deal firmer from the feedback nav gave when he first tried it at Snet.

To the extent he didn't like the 18 so much he was going to take it straight off and put stock back on.....

EDIT - IGNORE - DIDN'T SEE RUNNING 20 AT MO BIT LOL

When I was changing seals, I have noticed that one of the pistons has a damage in a surface at the edge as pictured. Been advised it shouldn't affect brakes.

Yeah I had 18 ratio and didnt get on with it on track as jimbo witnessed me struggling to stop for the pack ahead. 20 ratio feels loads better and SBS pads dont fade so much on track as that oem did once hot :)

Hmm nav.... Nothing to do with you over cooking the back straight avoiding an overtake!? ;)

The rest of that statement I agree with lol

You have nooooo idea how much pressure you were putting me under to avoid the inevitable middle finger overtake lol

Leaving the track certainly stopped you that time pmsl :D

I've got the Brembo master cylinder on my non abs blade but could do with a recommendation for some new pads. The stock pads seem to be a bit slow to start biting from cold.

The other query is regarding changing the M/C on a ABS - I was under the impression the M/C does not have any direct fluid connection to the brake callipers a bit like fly by wire - is this not the case?

    Thanks - Steve

that wont effect your braking as that bit wont see the seals.

i'd try bleeding your system again, starting at the m/c,then the left hand caliper, then the right (as your sat on the bike)

    assume it's non abs?

For track I swear by sbs dual carbon - they are brilliant IMO and jase has a cheap set up for sale!!

As for the abs, think your right, pull cable, send signal to gizmo, gizmo reads pressure and then applies what it thinks is the same pressure....

That's my basic understanding and quite frankly scares me. And as for mc on abs, I'm struggling with the logic also??

But I'm a proper mechanical numpty.....
