Hi guys i have had a bit of a mare this afternoon, went to take the baffle out of the exhaust and dropped the bolt into the exhaust casing :frusty: On top of that i cannot budge the baffle but i am pretty they are just held in with the one bolt
I can't help as my baffle was not in my R77 but i can confirm they are only held in by the 1 bolt. that is all I got on my baffle that came with my exhaust. After just a few miles they coke up a bit. I had to get the hammer and screwdriver to my Zard to remove the baffle. Not fun
the baffles can be really tight fitting especially if the bikes been ran for a bit with it fitted. on some cans there is a pop rivet which has to be drilled out but you would see it get some pliars or mole grips and yank the baffle out. if you dropped a bolt inside i would certainly take the can off ans fish it out.
thanks guys the bolt i am not especially worried about as its not actually inside the system just inside the exhaust casing but i see what your saying and really i should do it properly and fish the thing out
Use a folded up wire coat hanger and a pair of mole grips mate. Hook the folded end through the baffle, hold it in place, attach grips nice n tight and hit grips with a small hammer to shock baffle out. Will pm my number if still stuck.
Now i am thinking that i have been a complete numpty and that mine didnt have a baffle in to start with. I have google images of the R77 baffle and i certainly dont have what is shown in the images or on the Yoshi site in my exhaust. I think possibly the fact that i had a threaded bolt poking thru into the exhaust made me think that it was holding the baffle in when infact it was just there for the baffle to be held in place (if there had been one). This never clicked until Remal said his never came with a baffle but it did come with the bolt. I think the second thing that has thrown me a bit was looking at the pics Remal posted looking down into his Yoshi i could see no definate lip on the inside of the exhaust and yet when i looked into mine it looked different to his. Here are some pics anyway, i am still not sure but am leaning more towards there is no baffle in there
Erm - there IS a baffle in there! 100% - i have the same can and baffle. The easiest way is to get a socket ratchet which slips inside the baffle, hook the square end over the back rim (inside the pipe) and yank. As for the bolt, either, take the can off - about 20 mins, or try using a magnet. BTW, the baffle is the big gold ring.
I thought the baffle had a black end to it tho mate. Is ur baffle in or out. Pm me ur number and I will give u a call
The baffle looks like this.. sorry its a crap small picture, its all i could find. The black rim turns gold after it has been used... PM sent.. this is what it looks like with NO baffle...
sorry only just seen this. Mine come from the US so no baffle fitted. but come with it if needed what mine looks like I can take more pics of the can and baffle later when I get home if u need
just posted mine up and that looks like the baffle to me. the bold goes in on the top left hand side.
Nice - BTW, you need to tighten your oil cap - mine does the same, give it a good old turn as you can see a bit of leakage there. You might find at speed it sprays onto your can.
the pic was taken at the same time as the first service so more to do with it was just filled than not tight but good spot mate
