Hi Everyone. I just joined and hope to purchase a new blade shortly. i recently had a few discussions with dealers and if i trade my old bike in for a new Abs blade i get £900 more vs a ex demo bike. I then chatted to another dealer who offered to put in lots of extras hugger tail tidy seat cowl and crash bungs for free. What are the experiences of other members? Thanks in advance Chris

Actually, if you want a really good deal, try your Suzuki dealer! They can't give them away

But if you want a good bike, your local dealer will give you some options.

End of the day, you pays your money

The latest finance offers from Honda have a 0% PCP over 3 years on a ABS Blade....... sounds great, until you realise they are only offering 0% on ABS models.......now I wonder why they have to put an incentive on them if they are so good?

Hmmmmm gets me thinking word has got around about the ABS system

I have seen there are issues but given the volume they sell i feel the risk out ways the benefits.

Not knocking your comment in any way Chris, but I would doubt from your comment you have had multiple total front brake failures from speed, it tends to colour your views slightly differently when you have, and then find that Honda turn their back on you.

I agree if that happened to me i would never feel safe on that bike. Given the seriousness of thus fault Honda should do a recall if they understand the problem. Car companies do it all the time for much lower risks. I also cant believe Honda dont know the source of the problem.

There are going to be less deals about at the moment due to the time of year. I test rode a R1, BM and blade and went for the blade as it ticked all the boxes I wanted. and never looked back.

The best time to look for better deals are going to be After the summer or in the new year,

My mate picked up a 2012 blade for £7100 with less than 4k on it around feb/March. OK not the 2014 model or year. best bet is to keep a eye on the for sale section on here plus dealers etc

    hope that helps a little

to add mines a 2011 repsol ABS model and been used in anger on track, road and touring without a single issue

Hi Sorry to go off topic, but just wondering what your views/comparison was between blade & 899 (apart from just bhp). Had my blade from new - bought ABS Blade last year. Have been very pleased with her tbh; but wondering what I would get next. Always fancied a Duke & the reviews on the 899 seem excellent.

My experience was to have a general look in the marketplace, decide which bike I wanted and then went to my "local" dealer.
They offered me a competitive deal (Chells of Stafford) and have been great to me ever since
In fact I give them the opportunity to supply me with everything I need on the aftermarket front too!
They got me my Kriega luggage, some R+G bits, Shoei parts, ASV Levers, Tyres etc etc
I know them all by first name now and its a pleasure to pop down the local and have a chat about anything I need.
Keep it local / use or lose it.
Not all about screwing people down to the last penny, in my personal opinion.

He's right you know...then you needn't use your brain or senses to ride, the bike does it all for you.
unless of course you get one of these, lol
"BMW has issued a delivery hold and is recalling 1,414 2012 model year BMW S1000 RR motorcycles to inspect and correct a potential problem with loosening of the connecting rod bolts. As a result of a manufacturing process error, the bolts could loosen and fall out. If this happens, the engine may fail, seize, and/or leak oil. (s100rr forum)

Sticking up for old fashioned Fireblades tip I die lol.
Ps: get the non ABS, keep it quiet tho or you'll wake up Barney and upset Honda
