I've had Ducati's since 2008 and other than changing the bands every 2 years and oil every year, the only thing that has gone wrong on them is 1 reg/rec coming back from the TT 4 years ago. I agree that you are probably more likely to have a few issues than on a blade, but I would say 8/10 times it comes down to owners not servicing correctly or trusting it to non-qualified mechanics
Its probably with every bike like the BMW S1000RR or Kawa ZX10R as well. As long as you take care of, everything it will be fine. Everything else are just different choices...
It all depends how you ride them. Take it easy and they are reliably. Rag it around a track in the fast group and components fail. Blew up the engine on my 2009 Ducati Desmosedici, £36,000 for a new engine + labour cost of fitting Broke the gearbox on my 2008 Ducati 1098R with caused the back wheel to lock up at 120mph approaching Druids bend at Brands Hatch. No end of other problems. Does that answer the question
Ducatis are like a trophy wife. Stunning to look at...no doubt but you can only ride em every now an again, but if you like to ride a lot its really gonna cost you a packet!! Hope this helps
I sold my 848evo corse and bought a blade, like what was said above the Duc was stunning to look at I had no issues with it! The Blade is just so much easier to ride
