    Hi peeps,

I had a potentially lethal experience on the way home from Plymouth the other day. I was tonking it round a bend (one I know well thankfully) on a two way in Dorchester and the engine just lost all drive. I was banked right over. If this wasn't frightening enough as I lost drive my first thought was that I'd let the throttle go by accident, without thinking ( I didn't have much time....) I grabbed a hand full to rectify the situation. By this point because of the deceleration the bike had started to stand up. As I twisted the throttle open delay delay delay and then surprise!!!!! As the revs shoot through the roof I'm on my way uncontrollably into the path of an in coming tractor. I managed to avoid him and had to stop for a cuppa about 200m down the road to pull myself together.

I could really do without this happening again, it could potentially ruin the afternoon. Any ideas guys???? I thought perhaps an ignition fault????

    Many thanks,

    Tug

The Tilt sensor I seem to remember has to have the ignition switched off and on again once activated so don't think that's it.

Full ignition cut could be a few things, faulty Quickshifter etc etc

May be it wasn't an ignition cut but fuel starvation?

Dodgy Fuel pump, shat in the filter etc etc?

Was thinking tilt sensor, I also had a similar experience when I kinked my main fuel line, have you had the tank off recently?

    You think that's bad!

I had a similar experience today on my sp1 (not nice on a V twin). I think mine was down to old fuel, filled her with some super unleaded an all was good! Big smiles once again :D

Cheers for the suggestions fellas, it's due a 16,000 mile service at the end of the season but I might chuck her in early and give her a full once over. I don't fancy that again.

Tilt sensor but also have a look at side stand switching...... Had a problem with mine when I removed the stand and caused it to cut out....
