Well I've just got the Blade back after its 16,000 mile service and having its new rear tyre fitted.

The garage seems to have used its fling-o-matic chain lube again which had started splattering itself all over the back end of the bike even during the short ride home so I went out to clean it all off and re-Wurth it. I then noticed that when changing the tyre they'd ripped the old wheel weights off and left the foam / glue glom on the rear wheel so I had to spend 10 minutes removing that too.

On top of that I noticed that my grey Renthal grips are now grey and black thanks to the mechanic's oily hands.

During chain cleaning I noticed that the chain seemed tighter than usual so I measured it. I get 25mm of chain slack if I push up really hard.

Then the crowning turd in the punchbowl, my eyes were drawn to the left hand side fairing where I found this.

    and then this.....

    £500 well spent then

    What a Pi££er Rich,
Of course they will deny all knowledge of any damage occurring whilst in their hands.

Just no pride in some people.

That's a proper bum place dude and that is amateur work by a very untrained person .
I think a strong letter of complaint followed by a small claims court trip.

This is exactly what happened on my 16k service!
I had It repaired by the garage and have never returned, Arthur is now the only person trusted with my blade, I'm confident that if he ever accidentally broke something he would firstly tell me and second replace it.

Icing on the cake a few months after my service my gearbox went and Arthur repaired it etc, we also noticed that the head bolts had never had a spanner on them and the seal sticker was in one piece from rocker too block! The valve check that had cost me so much money had never been done!!!

I won't mention who's done it yet. From dealings thus far they've been no problems.

I've phoned them up and they've asked me to bring it back in so they can sort it. As you say I'm expecting some sloping shoulders but you never know.

I just don't see why people can't take pride in their work these days?

I really wish that Arthur lived round the corner :(

They must have known they done it and hoped you didn't notice for a few days as then they could of claimed not their problem, the garage I used tried to cover the cracks on mine with big thick smudges of grease which really pissed me off!

Exactly the same here, mate. I do most work myself but when it comes to servicing I'm happy to pay for the dealer stamps.

I'm done some primal screaming in the garage, mate, but ultimately there's nothing I can do about it now and going down and shouting the odds isn't going to get me anywhere so I'll just assume that I'm going to get f*cked over and go down there and let them look it over.

Tough as it is Rich, your attitude is spot on and to be admired matey.

Personally when you go back, I would also have it in a letter in writing, along with pictures of all the issues you are complaining about and the timescale you expect it to be repaired in, to the owner or MD of the dealership, just so there is no 'confusion' further down the line over what you were complaining about, it also lets them know where you are about to go with this if they do not stand up and meet their obligations.

I had my 16,000mile service done this year at Miles Kings sport in Hull, ive gotta say it was eye wateringly expensive. However my bike came back feeling and looking like a new bike. When you hand over large chucks of money for a 16,000mile service you need to know your bike has been handled and treated in a professional manner. Because in the back of your mind you`ll be thinking "What else have they buggered up that you carn`t see".. Take the bike back Rich.. and kick up shit.... :)

Shocking, hope you get it sorted rich. If the bloke can't even tighten fairing bolts how can you trust they have checked your valve clearances properly.. Or even bothered!

Rich any chance of a PM as I don't want to inadvertently take my blade to the same place, especially as it's got it's new clothes on.
