I've just fitted a Brembo HPK underslung caliper and although I didn't try to fit it to the standard wheel apparently it wont fit, work ok with aftermarket wheels tho I have Rizoma rear sets fitted and the brake line length was 580mm eye to eye, straight fitting on one end and a 90 degree fitting on the other, the 90 degree one was a little cosy against the master cylinder mind, but you can get a 70 degree one that would clear if you think it's a little too snuggly .... I find it acceptable tho and I'm a fussy c@@t
The wheels were originaly from my 04 R1 and I had to make new spacers and mill 2.6mm off the outside of the caliper bracket to get them in but the carrier & caliper would have fitted straight in if they had been Blade BSTs
Love that rear floater! where did you pick that up from? I'm curious where on the caliper bracket did you mill off the 2.6mm? just at the hanger part that slots into the swing arm? I've blade BST's but an '06 model..
It has to be milled of in two places to enable it to sit right in the swinging arm, the caliper lined up ok with the disc but was just too wide overall Rear disc is a Braketech one, bought from HPS
So just to clarify, if I bought the brembo underslung caliper kit (bracket and caliper) that states for marchesini wheels only, and then tried to fit it with BST or PVM wheels would I face a problem? Thanks
I'm not 100% sure it'll fit with any of the aftermarket wheels but all the ones I've looked at have similar hubs so there shouldn't be any problems I asked when I bought mine just to make sure it would fit ok with my BSTs and they fitted perfectly Brembo own Marchesini so that'll be why they specify them If you're looking at wheels tho have a look at MFR wheels, they're made by Mr Marchesini
Well finally got my finger out and found a rear Brembo caliper bracket. I managed to find an HPK rear caliper and underslung bracket from Fleabay off of a guy stripping his R6 track bike. The caliper was immaculate and pretty much unused. Been sniffing around for another bracket for ages (clearly the bracket from the R6 doest fit) and found a guy selling a brand-new one on Fleabay again! Boom! Tried the bracket on the caliper (and bike) tonight and fits like a glove Guess I need to order Titanium race bolts now anyone remember the thread pitch / bolt length etc? Also need to order new pads as the ones that came look past their best blurred photo's but you get the picture Wll also need to order a new rear braided brake line - thinking of changing all the ones on the bike to RED
I found this one second hand LC for £260 delivered.. New from the U.S. are around the £500 mark including the bracket
