Colin If you want/need any advice about the area please just ask. I live in Catalunya and know the roads well, and also spend a fair bit of time in Andorra. In fact I just got back from Andorra on the blade about an hour ago after a 3 day trip staying with friends. (The wife went in the car, and I took the Blade, obviously, and took the very scenic routes there and back) Enjoy the trip, it's motorcycle heaven in these here parts! Cheers Mike
Yes mate no problem! With all the practice I'm getting I should be a pro at doing it by the time you get down Just have oil and filter change to do and fit the Evotech radguard and SBS pads and the bike is ready. Seriously tho we just take flip flops and babywipes? I am soooooo excited I could wet myself!
Hope you manage to : Ride up / down Cow shit road, Micra Mountain, Xantia Road Get a McDonalds in Prades Ride from Millas to Estagel without melting your sliders Get a photo with giant malteasers Fill up at least once at the worlds best Repsol garage next to the French border (and get pics) Spot Eagles soaring in the thermals mid afternoon Very envious - you will all have a blast!
Will send you the link to where Jase refused to go swimming and Steve (Firebloke) screamed like a girl that it was cold - I just got on with it and went for a proper swim! https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@42.5...m4!1e1!3m2!1s76IKjvQHNI3ZayarTddjKg!2e0?hl=en
Just google street viewed a few of the roads around there. They look amazing! And SMOOTH! Think I may have to plan a trip like that myself!
They are amazing - hence 10 years of trips there each September (only 6 for me though) - many a tale to tell of black lines left from tyres, sliders, etc.
You disgust me! I have lost all respect for you.... well that's a slight lie, I didn't have any in the first place.....
Ooooo. Now I hope that is in the plan. I have to give that a go. Well at least twice...... Na can we just spend all day on that
Although this road looks amazing it's not as much fun as you'd expect. Believe me I've been umpteen times and the only way to get the best from it would be on a supermotard. Really not trying to spoil it for you, you have to do it just to experience it though. The kind of roads best for our bikes are fast and flowing and tight and twisty without the switchbacks. I think the route you'll be taking will take you past a lake called Embalse de Yesa. Although they've dug half of it up there's still some of it left and it hugs the shoreline of the lake. They've built a huge straight road which you need to come of as soon as you can and get back on the original road. I'm not kidding, if you ride it I guarantee when you return you'll tell me it's the best road you've ever ridden! It's on the N240 a few miles out of Pamplona/Iruna.
Also remember to fit new tyres before you go, and choose carefully if you want them to last! I shredded a Metzeler M5 in 2000 miles!
