I got Bridgestone BT023's on mine, personally the best Tyre i have ever ridden on (Had dunlops, michellins, metzellers, pirellis) Good life (about 7k on my rear and about 1000 miles before i hit the wear bars), great in the wet and dry, multi compound tyre.

    Thats my opinion.

Yeah Colin MCN Neevesy test Dunlop Sportsmart2 and M7 RR's back to back and said the M7's pipped it because of the comfort! I thot they were for smaller 600's mate! Cool let me know what mileage you get out of them Colin ;)
Maybe my next purchase mate :D

8K on a rear tyre? Is there a power problem with your bike? ;)

Just fitted the PR4 for the tour and so far they are excellent and grip is superb. Thats coming off a Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsa which I use for dry and track days currently

I think what we're all looking for in a tyre apart from the obvious epic levels of grip wet & dry! Is how it feels!!!.. I would like it Sporty, quick to turn in but stable and last for K's and K's!!.. :D
After reading previous tyre test, it's only when riding them back to back and only then do you get a true picture of what has the best characteristics but you just donno how long the best will last !!. Look and poor Jimbo's S20's on the Scottish tour!
It is a minefield out there choosing and it ain't cheap either!:( It's probably a question of trade offs! Like feel against stability or life span against comfort! That is why I opted for the best all rounder at that time but new rubber is superseding old rubber constantly only a few weeks ago!!.. one tyre test where a brand new touring tyre soundly beats a 2 year old sports tyre design around a track by a good couple of seconds!!..
I think our favourite mags should be doing a lot more on tyres and tests so we can keep up with all the developments going on!!..

So we are best armed when choosing our new hoops tailored to suit our needs ;)

Ok, so we all have our faves and there seems to be little packets of popularity for a few tyres which is confidence inspiring for me.
I personally, am just waiting for the pin no for my card then I can finally ditch the awful Qualifier 2s and Im going to try the PR4s as they seem to suit my needs on paper.
    But.....
whats the deal with the 50 or the 55 rear? I would of swapped directly for 50s, what is the main reason(s) to try 55 and does it come with any issues?
    Thanx

Taller profile bigger contact patch at full lean and quicker turn in.......harder to get rid of chicken strips but that means you can go further over on the track. Only issue I'm aware of is that the slightly bigger circumference makes the speedo 5% max pesamistic so 100mph means 103-5mph in reality. The inaccuracy drops as they get more warn

That's only if your speedo is reading correct in the first place 99% of the time it's says 70mph and your reply only doing about 63mph! I fitted a 55 profile and it corrected to read right
