Hi, I bought a pair of second hand Klipsh x10 headphones - not really happy with the sound...not sure just does not feel loud enough.. just ordered some comply tips and have decided to send the headphones back.. Anyone recommend any alternatives? My comply tips will fit one of these: I think Shure have nice reviews...but which is small light and i can wear under the lid? Sam
Thanks... Found a new pair of Shure SE-215 for £65... worth the investment? are they comfortable to wear? is is good noise cancellation? am stressing, as i use it for the gym too... i can see there is a jack that goes into each of the ear pieces? how does this hold up? ok?

There isn't any crap down the holes is there? They should come with a tool (a bit like a small pin) that you use to get any fluff or wax out?

Had mine nearly 2 years now and still going strong. The cable is removable so if you do break it you don't have to replace the whole lot, never needed to change mine though. Have always used them with comply tips, sound reduction is probably 60-80 % of ear plugs. I have my speed camera app set to 40% volume when out on the bike, quieter then I have it in the car.

what is the speed camera app you use Jim[/QUOTE] I user CamerAlert, it works on Android and iOS. They change an annual fee for the database updates, think it is £19, but I got lucky and got a free lifetime subscription for reporting a new camera a few years back.
I bought a set od SE215's yesterday - new boxed and sealed initial thoughts were wow these are big...and i was trying to figure out how to get them in my ear! this i figured out when i got home and read the instructions...lol must say the wire is little thick as is the jack...need to look into a mirror to get them on..guessing i will get used to this? Whilst i was reading up the reviews i came across burn in...but the last link put me off... also speaking to Shure direct - they said they have never heard of a burn in process...so little confused to why people would even try it? I bought a pair of clear Shure 425s a few months back at a local DJ store.(BTW they are fooking awesome!!), Takes a while to master fitting them each time just remember red dot is right! Most of my music is uber high quality or lossless and these just bring a new dimension! The dude said just said play any music for 24hrs before hitting over 50% volume, just looped a deep house mix over for 2 nights and it was fine. Unfortunately I can't wear mine under my Arai, OK putting on but can never remove the helmet afterwards! Use them at the gym and and home when listening in the later hours. If you have an iPhone don't bother with the IPhone specific cable - it's very poor quality compared to the supplied cable.
I have used shure earphones for years now. Great earphones and great quality. Putting them in is a knack you learn eventually. I usually wet the tip (sorry Firebloke) of the earphone and my ear. They do require a twisting motion to fit them properly and this technique does feel strange at first but you see on get used to it. A friend of mine bought some and said they were rubbish until I showed him how to put them in properly I have only recently started to wear my earphones under an Arai RX7 GP I do not know why but they do seem to get uncomfortable after about an hour and a half of wearing in a helmet but sound isolation is good and sound quality is great. It is easy to put helmet on and take off but I don't bother threading the wire over my ear when wearing under the lid, I just let the wire hang down the front. They certainly make getting to Lymm services more interesting and there is less temptation to speed when using the 'phones. Ah well that's my two pen ' th
