In my quest to replace the track bike with a Blade i'm looking at a damaged RR5 to match my road bike.
Granted it needs a few quid in parts (i.e. £150 clocks, £30 tilt sensor), but it doesn't come with a key.
Now i know that i can buy a replacement used ecu/locks/key kit for £350, is there a cheaper, easier way to get it running?

Being a track bike why bother with keys and clocks etc?

Clocks i agree with, i could even just plug a gear indicator into the clocks plug, but the HISS will be an issue with no key transponder

I'm sure I read something somewhere about a way to do this, I will see if I can find it again

Track electronics would fit a hrc ecu for good money. Also saves on a power commander when mapping

I could chance it by asking the former keeper for a spare, but i like your ideas.

Do the yank bikes not come with a built in immobiliser?

HRC route may be a bit pricey though.
