I've just had a stern e-mail reply from Dunlop regarding Sportsmarts !:( I e-mailed them askin the best pressures for our bike as i find 36/42 to firm and there is alot of talk about these tyre on different forums! Dunlop said not to use anything other than Hondas recommended pressures!!! 36/42 as ''these take into account contact with the road at all angles and hondas suspension requirements'' so does this mean we have to alter our suspension to suit the these tyres and our arses???.

If your after some info that you can trust, Give either Stefan @ Tyres4Bikes or Mark @ Holbeach tyres a ring, both would be able to sort you out fella.

Cheers Craig, one of the big selling point on these tyre is the NTEC carcass that your able to fine tune the pressures for different riding applications

Dunlop are telling you what they are required to tell you.
You can run the tyres at any pressure you like (within reason). Depends how and where you're riding, but for road use, I would start with around 34/36 and then experiment.

The guy that fitted mine at Snetterton said 20 in the rear and I think 26 in the front

sounds about right for track temps, but a bit low for road.

weird how some of these tyres have more in the rear than front.

i was always taught vice versa, for instance i run racetecs at 29f 27r set piping hot, in proper hot conditions ive run them lower.

What kind of effect do low pressures have on wear especially on the road?

I used dunlop roadsmarts and ran them at 34 front 38 rear. felt so much better and completly planted in all situations. Give that a try.

Probably square off much quicker and possibly a lack of grip, can't get the heat in to them to increase the psi on the road hence why you start higher than on track.
