Decided to start getting ready for the trip as today is the only day I will get a minute to get it done. Still to fit my HM GP shifter on Wednesday when I head down to the parents house to pick up the rental van. Apart from a couple of pairs of shorts to stick in. I'm ready
Yep I actually read the workshop manual to see if there was anything in there that would make my life easier but it just confirmed the above.... Also supplier sent me EBC double H sintered pads not SBS so fingers crossed their not too bad
Have you got rider comms kit Colin? Hearing Dave shout 'coming past on your right Nav!' As he wheelied past me had me in stitches
Na I don't like to listen to anything but the bike when out mate. I have tried it though and have a new system sitting in my toolbox ever since it was first used.
Similar route to what we did last year Col your going to love it mate and the roads are just awesome mate were back there in September wish I could of made both trips as I know with Jimbo and Dave there it's going to be a right laugh. Look forward to the write ups and of course all the pictures
Have a read through here from a while back - need to let you have a few more routes / roads as a few are missing that you really should do - Will make sure you have them in time to load into satnav http://1000rr.co.uk/touring/6236-3.htm
I did this area back in May but more on the French side of the Pyrenees, You will have an absolute blast! The mountain roads on both sides were brilliant and you will meet your fair share of characters on the way too....
FFS looks like I'm gonna have to clean mine! I've even heard a nasty rumour Lambeth has cleaned his....
Well that's me arrived at my parents house. A lil but quicker than I expected Just going to pop out for some shorts, and then I'll be fitting my HM GP shifter, and picking up my Gel seat from Jimmy tonight. Tomorrow morning and we will be picking up the van and heading down to meet up with Jimbo a crew. It's getting exciting now. Woohoo
Keep the updates coming - Wifi is your friend and McDonalds perfect to chill out in as they all have decent A/C and free WiFi These are the giant malteasers you need to stop and get picture next to - on the N116 down from Mont Louis towards Prades And the worlds best Repsol Garage (In my opinion) is this one at the Spain / France border - many a fuel stop here Cowshit road heading to Ripol starts about 3km from here and really is a must do road - it takes you towards Barcelona and avoids the mega money toll on the new / main road. Stop at the top by the large hotel (which is closed in summer it appears) and get photos from large car park before manic descent to Ripoll This is 'cow shit road' but in July it should be clear, its the N260 to Ripoll Then take micra mountain back I've got loads of other routes - but sounds like others have given you good information - only downside is the Spanish road safety program has replaced much of the N260 with new dual roads and the old one has been removed.
